Like seriously!!
Speaking Of WORKING FROM HOME...With distilleries shifting production to the hot black market hand sanitizer trade, it got governors and NCDC across the country thinking. Could they allow bars to stay open and ensure a safe experience for their citizens during coronapocalypse?

You mean keep people from earning a living and providing for their families? Yeah I'm pretty cynical. There is a sense if urgency so something has to be done now and every day that they screw around with their political b#ll shit is another day that small businesses and workers are affected. Maybe NCDC and and these sheebles who say they care about this country should have their jobs eliminated as well as their pay.

What is this one saying?

MTN Permanent Staff are working from home but they mandated all their contract staff to be coming to work. Is it not wickedness? Are those contract staff not humans? Go to their new Ikeja Contact center, they're coming to work.
Let the authorities look into this and let all work from home.

Hmmmmm

Nigerians should be expecting network fluctuation this week

Hmmm! Little do you know that MTN has been simulating telecommuting and equipping itself with a business continuity plan that enables atleast 80% of its staff work virtually from any location for about 3 years now.

Considering the numerous disruption of their regular workflow by the NLC, agberos, government, etc, it would have been foolhardy not to do that. The company has invested millions of dollars on cutting edge work tools and cloud technology that allows staff work from any where. This has been tested and simulated over and over.

Trust me, if they had not told you staff are working remotely, you wouldn't even notice. Your network will remain as stable as usual.

I don’t think it is about wickedness. Most Contract staff are usually frontend staff, core staff are authorizers/supervisors. That can be done remotely. Not same for service staff.

My major concerns are that Nigerian Gov't is really taking this unserious just like President Trump did initially by calling it hoax.

But now, the reality has dawned on him having recorded over 400 deaths and 6k+ cases in America.

Nigerians, let's take this serious like never before. If possible constant use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer and social distancing.

Me, I didn't even go to work today, if my office like make them do anything they like.

I can't risk my life for 100k + job now.

Let's be wise and stop taking this to be a joke.

The world is in a serious turmoil now and if you're conversant with the news emanating from Italy, you'll definitely know that this is not something anyone can joke with.

Thanks.

Not sure if this is true. Contact/front end are usually the easiest to work from home. All they need is a VPN and a phone line.

My husband visited UCH in Ibadan this morning and his doctor friend told him more than 50 people are down with covid-19. Seems the government is trying to downplay the number

They are only reporting those that have been tested. I doubt there are enough testing kits to go round in Nigeria since there is a scarcity all around the world.

Not true, their job functions mainly require customer interface. Just like petrol attendants, cashiers, sales men, service agents...etc.

They can’t work from home. Except we want to shut down the (Walk-in) service industry totally, which would be a very serious matter.

In this case, we're not talking about front end staff or back end. Corona virus does not check that. A customer who could not get service because offices are not working knows why except the business consider their profit more important than the lives of those that work for them.
So I stand to totally disagree with you.

You reserve the right to agree, but even in developed nations- essential services are still running. I am sure they know better than you, who Corona respects. It is just what it is, some services have to keep running. Even during wars, some activities keep running.

Anyone who has Intel's would know that the stuff is spreading so fast. And Nigeria won't be able to handle a massive outbreak.

Better protect yourself.
That is the painful truth, a doctor told me yesterday that if there is a massive outbreak the infected tolls could run into millions in Nigeria alone cos of some factors which include the lackadaisical attitude of Nigerians.

Yea, you have the right to also say what you feel it's right but not all are actually right. What do you consider as essential services? Attending to people that buy recharge cards and data? Lol
The people you're coming to serve are all in their houses in fear of exposing themselves to corona virus and you asked your staff to go to the shop with no form of protection and wait for them. Are the contract staff and front-end staff as you call them immune to corona? Recharge cards and data are bought online, if you have issues, report it online and staff will have remote access to solve customers issues.
Nigerians should be sincere for once.

[21/03, 18:41] : I spoke with the consultant of the Infectious Diseases Unit, LUTH yesterday and he told me clearly not to listen to a single thing spoken by the government.
[21/03, 18:41] : A lot of people are already infected and are taking Armatem at home, meaning when the pandemic becomes full blown in Nigeria, it will likely be worse than China and Italy.
[21/03, 18:42] : Pls tell your family and friends to stay away from needless gatherings, no matter how “important”, keep your hands as clean as possible all the time, avoid touching anything outside your house, run away from anyone who sneezes or coughs around you.
[21/03, 18:42] : Pls I have a note of warning for all of us, especially those in Lagos.
[21/03, 18:42] : They are dealing with far more than what they are revealing and he warned that everyone should take caution as though the pandemic is already full blown in Nigeria.
[21/03, 18:42]: He said even those who recover from COVID-19 suffer close to 50% of lungs damage permanently, which means they will be on medication forever or they may die from complications in a few years after recovery from COVID-19.
[21/03, 18:42] : It’s not a flu like China makes people believe, it’s more like chronic pneumonia.
[21/03, 18:42] : The doctor told me the NCDC is telling suspected cases to self isolate when there’s no means of checking how well these people isolate. This means by the time they start showing symptoms, they would have infected others.
[21/03, 18:42] : The virus like most viruses doesn’t last long in the body after incubation. Viruses have no “cure”, only the symptoms will be managed. The virus takes its course in like two weeks before the body develops antibodies to defeat it.
[21/03, 18:42] : This is the best possible way to curb the spread. This thing is not a joke at all. It is estimated to claim at least 80million people worldwide. Do all you can not to be one of them.
[21/03, 18:42] : Avoid people like the plague Cos asthma has weakened the lungs already and they won’t survive COVID-19.
[21/03, : COVID-19 will almost certainly be fatal to anyone who has respiratory illness, kidney or liver disease before infection. Cos those organs are usually its target.
[21/03, 18:42] : If you have asthma, pls treat this like someone gave your name and picture to an assassin.
[21/03, 18:42] : This virus is not a joke whatsoever.
[21/03, 18:42] : More advanced countries don’t even have enough test kits, how much more Nigeria?
[21/03, 18:42] : Panic now and act like the crazy one now, so you can be the sane one in the end.
[21/03, 18:42] : It is capable of infecting every human being on earth and killing up to 10% of the human race.
[21/03, 18:42] : If you have internet, watch “the worst hit hospital in Italy” on YouTube and see what’s going on there first hand.
[21/03, 18:42] : I don’t even care what Lagos State want to tell me.
If they like they should under estimate the virus..
on our own part.. let’s stay at home.

It was when I saw how free the roads were at closing time yesterday that I knew that some people are actually already at home.

I was opening office doors with tissue paper and people were looking at me like i'm crazy.
