I can relate to what you have said. But the incessant harasment and extortion by ill-informed security agents (SARS & EFCC) makes this environment unsafe for online soloprenuers, especially the introverted ones with social anxiety like myself. The last thing I'm willing to take is unnecessary harassment from a 19th century dundee security officer.

You aren't writing your proposals well. No one cares where you are from on Upwork. Besides getting a job there is also like in real life you have to apply for a lot of jobs to get bites. It gets easier when you have a good portfolio.

Truth I started applying for RJ this 2020 but I have not got one. I get many requests daily if I have US work-authorization and visa. I have been responding that I don't have and keep requesting for sponsorship. Another observation is the country name "Nigeria." Many who have had trails of chat with me will find excuse to end convo as soon I have mentioned Nigeria. Please how do we instill confidence to our remote employers? Not everybody is bad in the country Nigeria.

I use Upwork. My niche is digital marketing but I am learning to code now as programming jobs pay much higher. The coronavirus has made work slow as all my clients have asked me to pause and pending interviews have been suspended indefinitely.
