Nairalandmonika:

UK ordered for 2 million ventilators?
Do u know how much one ventilator cost?
What will they do with 2 million ventilators sef.

UK did not order 2m ventilators, maybe they ordered 2m test kits.

if he knows how much a ventilator costs he will know not to have posted what he did. The other day the gov of Newyork said a ventilator costs between $30-60K
The Uk currently has 8000 ventilators and their total requirement is 30,000

Shameless. A foreigner in the name of Jack Ma has spent Billions of $ to give people free treatment of the disease but here is a man who sees it as an opportunity to make more wealth and see his people jubilating over a shameless act. Ibos, you all need to sit down and think twice on how you want to be taken serious, in this country.

Yeah! The biggest businesses round world are assembly line that can easily be converted to assemble anything and he has that

Innoson is a smart guy.You have got exactly what he is going to do.Buy from his business partners and assemble and sell to the govt.It is faster than the govt trying to negotiate now which will take sometime. He did it with the fighter jets' parts too.
The reason he keeps saying that he produces these things in Nigeria is what baffles everybody.Everybody knows we do not have metals, steels and electricity that will facilitate the production of these things.Experts have even said that it will take a while to produce these in a vehicle manufacturing environment.,.. this is even for the developed nations that have all the amenities.
Innoson I say, is a really smart guy.Kudos to him.
All major manufacturer in America are already converting businesses to produce essential equipment needed to treat the virus.

Is Nigeria not done for. Not more than 500 ventilators in a country of over 200 million. Yet our senators and reps went on to purchase the latest Toyota vehicles money can buy. If you are a youth in this country and still not planning to Migrate legally, then I pity u.

Commence production Asap.

See the advantage of having local production? In this critical time no country will be willing to sell to anybody cos they need it themselves. Encourage local manufacturing our govt will not listen.

Imagine that we have three of innoson factories.

Nigerians are truly proud of you IVM.
No govt has eva encourage patronising IVM products as much as this govt. When boarder was closed ppl were complaining. Now, we're witnessing d reason of encouraging local production.

Yeah right

Ventilators are complex devices

Companies like Tesla, SpaceX, GM etc are estimated to need like a whole year to start production, yet an assemblage in a remote corner of Nnewi is claiming to also be able to build them. I'm certain he'll import from china and slap his sticker on them.

Ventilators are not motor vehicles... anything done wrong would mean death!!!!.That is why it's so costly. One ventilator like Dragger (VN5000) for adult use and Stephan(Sophie) for paediatric and neonatal use costs over 14m naira each
Bros, the way you guys talk of subjects you have a faint knowledge of is so worrisome.
Are there no ventilators in the past without y2k softwares? He must not produce state-of-the-art ones but manual ones that can atleast save lives and reduce mortality rates

You're so shameful, is he as rich as Jack Ma?
Will you sell steel and polyethylene raw materials to him at no price?
Yes, he might have the machineries but he has to buy components to assemble those stuffs.
You should be ashamed that a whole country doesn't have upto 300 ventilators but each of your political elite has atleast a convoy of 3cars with each over N20 million twice the price of a ventilator.
This statement is as patriotic as can be and knowing this man, if the govt can avail him raw materials, he will produce without charge

Seriously, what technical components does Innoson produce, he assembles automobiles from completed components. Even European car manufacturers will struggle to build ventilators , but at least they have access to a supply chain environment that can source the supplies, while they focus on assembly and production.

It's not beyond Innoson capabilities, but I will suggest he focus on preventive items such as face mask, gloves, respirators types of equipment.

The lack of local industrial capabilities will be Nigeria's downfall, the country can't even produce masks or rubber gloves.

Ford on Tuesday said it was working with GE Healthcare and 3M, another health industry manufacturer, to design modified respirators and ventilators, which could be produced using fans, batteries and other parts that Ford typically uses for its cars

On Monday, Fiat began converting one of its car plants in China to start making about one million masks a month

Bros, this is my area. I repeat, ventilators aren't motor vehicles. A lot of technology is involved. A device that must behave like human beings and be well interactive. A baby babylog from dragger alone costs 14m naira and it's no more in production. VN5000 which is now a replacement is over 16m naira and if you want accessories for all patient categories ( neonates, paediatrics and adults) you would spend nearly 20m naira to get one. A ventilator is meant to last up to 10 years. I like innoson for his innovative automobile ideas. He should just continue with that.

On a research and development alone, companies manufacturing ventilators spend billions every year. It takes away a huge portion of their profit because nothing most go wrong. It's no child's play.

As u jump into the usual victim mentality rant of the rejected stone, remember the man has no track record in medical equipment making.

Even his auto venture is largely an assembly plant. He is just a business man looking to mask his greed or drive to profit from a plague as charity. There are more capable hands then a assembler of modules in one corner.
Re: COVID-19: Innoson Ready To Produce Ventilators & Medical Equipment by MetaPhysical: 1:52am On Mar 25, 2020
Innoson has a brand. He should stick with it.

He can invest in a mask and ventilator manufacturing plant as a separate venture and under different brand name.

He will ruin his Innoson brand when he turns it to jack of all trades.

3M is one of the biggest household item producers in the world. Their facility and machinery can be multi-purposed and turned into car manufacturing plant. They do not because "brand has value".

Innoson should not ruin his brand....set up a new and separate brand instead.
