Oh No, Not again! sad sad sad

All of us @ were praying for the past fortnight that these people will not come out with fake hand sanitizers!!

May God save Nigerians from this murderous murderers.

Same kind of people we read, that produce fake teething powder for new born babies under 6 months old, sending many innocent newborns to their untimely death!

They turned worn out and old tires to brand new ones in their shops under 3 hours and sell it back to unsuspecting public as tokunbo tires!!! shocked
Causing many deaths on our roads by so doing!!

Same people that were rejoicing on the death of one of the greatest women to ever come out of Nigeria (Mrs Dora Akunyili!) cos she was a pain in their dirty as$!!

Anything and everything is money to them, even when innocent lives are in danger.

May they all perish before their time.
Bastards.

Hmmmmm.........

Nigerians are simply the enemies of themselves!
It's just so sad!!

We felt so sad watching the video.
These people worship money, ignoring how many lives they send to their grave!
They will never escape the consequences of their evil ways.
NEVER!

Why not shut up if you have nothing reasonable to say, are they as poor as the poorest people.
Better no let people come for your head Oga romantic!
Oshisko!!

The murderous murderers with ak 47, cows and the mandate of their god to kill all over the country because of their cows, their great great grandfather or their god, those ones whom you serve, should their murderous murderousness also be noted and prayed against? Or should we ask God to allow them continue?

Hand sanitizer is actually easy to make with readily available materials. So, what exactly do you want? A fancy factory somewhere?

Keep calm folks. Washing your hand with soap for at least 20-30 seconds is more effective than any sanitizer.

Pls stay informed for the sake of humanity.
Hands are already peeling because of FEAR. Let's be calm and stay safe.

A lady shares her experience in a Lagos market where people were mixing chemicals and selling in large volumes as hand sanitizers.

This is really sad to see how desperate men could get risking the health of those who are trying to protect the same health.

They keep shouting Nigeria is a zoo and one cannot help but ask what their contribution is in this "zoonotic" process. This is a typical example. Why fake a product that you know can stand between life and death of the user? Why fake any product at all?!!!

We shouldn't judge that what they are doing id wrong when we don't know if they are using the right chemical input in their production. Sanitizer can be made with METHYLATED SPIRIT, HYDROGEN PEROXIDE, GLYCERINE and WATER with an optional choice of adding any fragrance of your choice in the right proportion. The hand wash I use in my toilet is mixed myself. These people may be doing well to create supply for an essential product that is scarce but badly needed right now.

Most of the hand sanitizers imported to Nigeria are homemade. Because they're not in a fancy place doesn't mean it's fake, hand sanitizer is not that difficult to make (YouTube). What I'll suggest is that the regulatory body which is NAFDAC should look deep into this and make sure they adhere to the standard. This innovative prevented the scarcity of hand sanitizers in the country as those pharmacys are inflating the prices (most people can't afford). You'll be shocked to know most Item we use here in Nigeria are made in someone's room in China

Don't mind them, I was looking for this comment.
OP stated her fears and that's what it is, HER FEARS.
There's no confirmation that the products are fake.
Sanitizer that is very easy to make.
Yes, there might be fake ones but you have to commend the people that are trying to make the good ones available to you.

See all of them condemning Nigeria.
Because its from Nigeria.

We really do hate ourselves!!

i am telling you. And all this chemicals are things that i know. A client requested for IPA and carmopol 940 called importer and he was giving me three times the previous price. for hand sanitizer, the chemicals needed are glycerine, carmopol 940,IPA i.e isopropyl alcohol, ethanol with all this you are gameif you mix it appropriately.
Glad that you used the word 'if'. That is a very big variable that could determine living or dying for another human being. Now in this dangerous times, it is unacceptable to throw in a new uncertain variable into the system. Healthcare systems globally are over burdened by Covid 19 despite been well led and funded. In Nigeria healthcare system is non-existent or under funded at best. Can our healthcare system manage mass and sporadic chemical burns alongside Covid19 ?. We all know the answer.
NAFDAC, SON and Lagos Safety council should close that market.
We should stop blaming our leaders, they are a reflection of who we are as a people.

The only thing that matters is whether the sanitizer contains a minimum of 60% alcohol. If it does, they should carry on, as far as I am concerned. Poor people may not be able to afford imported hand sanitizers, so if this locally made sanitizer satisfies the minimum requirement as specified by the WHO, this is good. If I were NAFDAC, I would send agents to supervise the mixing of the chemicals just to ensure that the ratio is correct.

i would agree, if this was not nigeria. there is no guarantee they are even putting spirit in it. this is the nation of fake drugs, paracetamol in meat, adulterated baby food, importing of scrap.

and that is why most of those items are low quality - and why we use the word china - to denote rubbish items. in the fancy factories as you call them - everything is subjected to rigorous quality tests. batch numbers etc. these people making hand made sanitiser are first and foremost profiteers, no different from the people who will sell you adulterated petrol on the road side during fuel scarcity.

hand saniser is 60-95% ethanol. so where are they getting the ethanol they are using? ethanol is highly inflammable - you think they are taking any safety measures in its handling?

all that will happen is that people will have a false sense of confidence, the same false sense you get from fake drugs, or from original imitation brakes assembled in someones bedroom in china.

this is what happens in cottage industries without fancy equipment
and later we will wonder why people suddenly come down with kidney failure

See what your desire to win every argument has turned you to. You don't even have the wisdom and understanding of proper presentation of points anymore and in your mind you're an argument champion. As if Seun will pay you for being a horrible quoter. You're one of why women are clamoring for equal rights with men, because some of them have better wisdom than men. Mumu!
