Thanks. I'll keep looking. I really hope this virus doesn't drag on for too long. I'm worrying for myself here and worrying for my relations in Naija. Can't imagine the havoc an outbreak could possibly wreak on our weak institutions.

Good day. Please for applicants post ITA and any other member that can give suggestion on this should please help.

My friend is about getting in to the pool but there is a challenge. Her international passport is in her maiden name (it's not going to expire till 2022). She applied for a new one in her married name and already captured ( but passport is not ready due to scarcity of booklet where she captured)

1. Do you advise she gets into the EE pool with her maiden name. Would she be able to change this post ITA. (date on marriage certificate and other proofs of legal name change would be pre submission of EE profile) hope it won't raise a red flag post ITA

2. Or she go ahead with her married name (issue with this is date of issue and expiration of passport) since the one available is in her maiden name.

3. She has a good score and is concern with tie breaking rule. So wants to create a profile as soon as possible. Would have opted out to waiting for the new passport in married name which seems not forthcoming.

I am pre ITA, so i don't know what post ITA forms look like to give the necessary advice and i don't want to misguide her. Thank you

That's the worrisome part. That one maybe asymptomatic and unknowingly infect someone in the vulnerable class(elderly, folks with underlying health conditions). I had a mild fever for the past 2 weeks and was too scared to let anyone elderly come near me. A little more, and I would have hung a slate bearing "Unclean" to deter folks from coming near.

Even if Canada allows parents in, one is still not out of the waters. The problem is that since Nigeria has banned incoming international flights, it would be difficult to get a flight from Nigeria until the ban is lifted.

The testing is only capturing people that have travelled and currently showing symptoms or people that have been around those that tested positive. These people also have to show up for testing. Alot of asymptomatic carriers are flying under the radar.

Manpower agency sometimes recruit for positions like these.

Just to add, absolutely nothing wrong with putting in temp or part- time hours even alongside a full time job. Some P/T work pays surprisingly well, e.g., teaching once a week all year at a uni could gross you +30 grand. Even an extra 100 every weekend for retail work adds up over the year. Stick it in your retirement fund, pay down your mortgage, stock up your savings, etc. Move yourself ahead. Every dollar counts.

I was meant to start a new job on Wednesday. Almost everything set. Just to undergo a short training. They just sent an email that the offer is on hold till further notice.
I'm trying not to think too much of it.

Reminds me of an Indian friend I have here. She was set to start a government work last Monday only for the work from home cut backs to start same period. Her situation is good though as she's been here a while and can wait for whenever the job can start.

Just keep your head up and if you're pressed for a quick source of income, Walmart is looking for 10,000 part time associates. Walmart and other grocery chains are classified under essential services so they will always have opportunities through this period. All the best.

I came into Canada 1st week of March (with my wife and a 1 y/o), hoping to stay here for 2 weeks and go back.

Unfortunately, flights have been canceled and I'm spending a whole lot on airbnb.
I have one more week paid on the airbnb and I cannot afford any more.
Please help o. I'm open to shared apartments too.

It's not entirely true. Based on hearsay, some provinces accept while some don't. Unfortunately, I've not seen any one who testified of successful conversion

On a group I belong to, someone converted CIMA (obtained through MRA with ICAN) to CPA. He actually registered and completed CIMA while in Canada and converted it to CPA (Manitoba province).
