Please don't oo.

I had a local trip few days ago, now every small tingling in my throat, I think it's corona. sad
I had sore throat about a week ago too. I rarely have a sore throat. I can still feel it a bit. A work colleague arrived from Vegas on the 23rd of February. She and her husband became sick like a week after. I sometimes think maybe I had the corona but did not even know grin

It really will take a while for the job market to come back up. Some people who can't work from home are losing their jobs. Small businesses are shutting down. I'd honestly not advise any prospective immigrant, who has a job in Nigeria, to land within the next 3 months.
True. Nice to see your moniker again. Your moniker really gave me some hope during LVO wahls.

It's possible. Idris Elba is still not showing any symptoms.

Welcome back to the land of the living. grin

Thanks. I'll keep looking. I really hope this virus doesn't drag on for too long. I'm worrying for myself here and worrying for my relations in Naija. Can't imagine the havoc an outbreak could possibly wreak on our weak institutions.

Seconded. Heard some companies are already planning to slash salary and put some projects on hold.

It is well.

Good day. Please for applicants post ITA and any other member that can give suggestion on this should please help.

My friend is about getting in to the pool but there is a challenge. Her international passport is in her maiden name (it's not going to expire till 2022). She applied for a new one in her married name and already captured ( but passport is not ready due to scarcity of booklet where she captured)

1. Do you advise she gets into the EE pool with her maiden name. Would she be able to change this post ITA. (date on marriage certificate and other proofs of legal name change would be pre submission of EE profile) hope it won't raise a red flag post ITA

2. Or she go ahead with her married name (issue with this is date of issue and expiration of passport) since the one available is in her maiden name.

3. She has a good score and is concern with tie breaking rule. So wants to create a profile as soon as possible. Would have opted out to waiting for the new passport in married name which seems not forthcoming.

I am pre ITA, so i don't know what post ITA forms look like to give the necessary advice and i don't want to misguide her. Thank you

Yeah, lots of people flooded them with questions on this and they had to clarify. Thank God. Still hoping that parents will be allowed in. grin

The sad part is that many, with CoPR, have resigned (and even booked flights) already, in fact some have been selling off properties

That's the worrisome part. That one maybe asymptomatic and unknowingly infect someone in the vulnerable class(elderly, folks with underlying health conditions). I had a mild fever for the past 2 weeks and was too scared to let anyone elderly come near me. A little more, and I would have hung a slate bearing "Unclean" to deter folks from coming near.

Even if Canada allows parents in, one is still not out of the waters. The problem is that since Nigeria has banned incoming international flights, it would be difficult to get a flight from Nigeria until the ban is lifted.

The testing is only capturing people that have travelled and currently showing symptoms or people that have been around those that tested positive. These people also have to show up for testing. Alot of asymptomatic carriers are flying under the radar.

This message is for everyone with CoPRs, patiently waiting for Convid-19 to blow over, borders to open up and airlines to begin flying again. I'd like to encourage you put this time to very good use. There are a lot of very good, very useful, and VERY FREE pre settlement services available to help newcomers find houses, jobs, write CVs - even help with starting a business, going to school, finding childcare, accessing benefits etc. Here are a few below. I hope these help.

Just to add, absolutely nothing wrong with putting in temp or part- time hours even alongside a full time job. Some P/T work pays surprisingly well, e.g., teaching once a week all year at a uni could gross you +30 grand. Even an extra 100 every weekend for retail work adds up over the year. Stick it in your retirement fund, pay down your mortgage, stock up your savings, etc. Move yourself ahead. Every dollar counts.

I was meant to start a new job on Wednesday. Almost everything set. Just to undergo a short training. They just sent an email that the offer is on hold till further notice.
I'm trying not to think too much of it.
Reminds me of an Indian friend I have here. She was set to start a government work last Monday only for the work from home cut backs to start same period. Her situation is good though as she's been here a while and can wait for whenever the job can start.

Just keep your head up and if you're pressed for a quick source of income, Walmart is looking for 10,000 part time associates. Walmart and other grocery chains are classified under essential services so they will always have opportunities through this period. All the best.

And so the province of Ontario has released its list of business deemed essential which will remain open during the period of emergency. Please do your best to avoid large gatherings, stay at home as much as possible and do what you can to keep yourself and your families safe.

Hi All,

Please I'm in need of an apartment urgently.
I came into Canada 1st week of March (with my wife and a 1 y/o), hoping to stay here for 2 weeks and go back.

Unfortunately, flights have been canceled and I'm spending a whole lot on airbnb.
I have one more week paid on the airbnb and I cannot afford any more.
Please help o. I'm open to shared apartments too.

Thanks.

NB
I have also been checking for temporary work, but all these Walmart people never call me.

We plenty. It's quite confusing. Was meant to come next month. COPR expires May 30 but we are hopeful, life and health 1st.

Please I'm currently running my ICAN and by his Grace I will be done this year.. But I heard that wes does not recognize ICAN exemption with CIMA.. please how true is this??
It's not entirely true. Based on hearsay, some provinces accept while some don't. Unfortunately, I've not seen any one who testified of successful conversion

On a group I belong to, someone converted CIMA (obtained through MRA with ICAN) to CPA. He actually registered and completed CIMA while in Canada and converted it to CPA (Manitoba province).
