Fisher007:What’s the disadvantage of using only 2 batteries with it? Please explain And which batteries are you using for yours and which can you recommend for me ? |
Re: Inverter Users : Lets Have Your Experience by Timileyin1234(m): 11:19am On Mar 28, 2020 |
JaySterling:Don’t get everything twisted. Inverter doesn’t charge ur battery, it is solar that charges battery through charge controller, when the battery is charged. U only put loads on inverter as stabilizer. But doesn’t work as stabilizer cos it does not have boost. The Kva of ur inverter determines the loads u will put on U can put any amount of battery on inverter in as much ur solar or ur external charger can charge it for whatever amount of time. The amount of batteries u have determine the amount of juice u will have But if u use solar the load will be on how efficient ur charge controller and the amount of panel u have. Our fada in the house. Did I make sense or I’m just talking in rubbish |

JaySterling: There are no disadvantage really. But normally a 2.3 or 2.5kva should use two 200ah 24v battery. Some people still use two 100 ah battery but it won't last long as much as a two 200ah. For me I use four 200ah batteries. The inverter installer interlooped the first two batteries ontop in series, then the second two batteries below in series then paralleled them altogether. That means it charges them two by two. I now still connected it to a super charger ( though it is not really necessary). But I always supercharge it once in a while to maintain the battery from ever going low. I hope you understand or this make sense to you. Mine last for minimum 10-14 days without NEPA. Cause I don't use it for fridge or Ac or pumping machine. My total load is not even up to 400w or 500w ( few bulbs, laptop, TV, game, air coolant (once a while),phone charger ) that is all. And most time all my appliances are not on at the same time. My next plan is to get DC appliances, I heard that is the next way to enjoy electricity if one wants to live an OFFGRID life in Naija. |

Re: Inverter Users : Lets Have Your Experience by ewizard1: 6:44pm On Mar 28, 2020 |
Timileyin1234: Bros, I have an inverter and also a solar system, that picture is a Solar Charge controller. I also have a MPPT SCC. Inverters charge even when solar is active. Some good inverters can combine power from both sources for the battery. I'm just surprised why kept saying "Inverter does not charge the battery" |
Re: Inverter Users : Lets Have Your Experience by Timileyin1234(m): 6:48pm On Mar 28, 2020 |
All the wire that comes from the buttom of a charge controller goes to battery and inverter connected to the battery

If nobody get my explanation, maybe una shu check google All the wire that comes from the panel goes to charge controller den move to battery So wire that comes from the battery goes to the inverter

Re: Inverter Users : Lets Have Your Experience by ewizard1: 6:53pm On Mar 28, 2020 |
Timileyin1234:Yes, almost everyone knows that's the connection of a Solar setup. I have a current setup of Solar system with Li-ion batteries. |

ewizard1:So what charges the battery now |
Re: Inverter Users : Lets Have Your Experience by ewizard1: 6:57pm On Mar 28, 2020 |
Timileyin1234: During the sunny day, the solar charge controller charges, if at the same time, there's grid power, the inverter too add to the charge. Then when the sun is down, and theres still grid power, the inverter continues charging if the battery is not full 2 Likes |

ewizard1:So how did u connect inverter to the grid without external charger
|
Re: Inverter Users : Lets Have Your Experience by ewizard1: 7:03pm On Mar 28, 2020 |
Timileyin1234:Lmao... bro. there are 2 AC on an inverter, Input and Output. the Input is to be plugged into the grid, then the output is connected to the house (Home appliances) When grid power is available the inverter would take supply the house(appliances) from the same wire that is connected to grid and at the same time use it to charge the battery. |
Re: Inverter Users : Lets Have Your Experience by ewizard1: 7:06pm On Mar 28, 2020 |
@Timileyin1234 Okay, maybe I understand you now. You have an Inverter and an External charger. I have an Inverter with in-built charger. the same inverter is the charger, i dont need an external charger. |
Re: Inverter Users : Lets Have Your Experience by Timileyin1234(m): 7:07pm On Mar 28, 2020 |
ewizard1:Can I see ur connection |
Re: Inverter Users : Lets Have Your Experience by ewizard1: 7:07pm On Mar 28, 2020 |
An even the person you posted has an Inverter with in-built charger, so you cant recommend your own setup to them. |
Re: Inverter Users : Lets Have Your Experience by ewizard1: 7:13pm On Mar 28, 2020 |
Timileyin1234:This is my setup with solar at my small shop. You cant see the wirings because they are under that plywood. But I can draw you the diagram. |
Re: Inverter Users : Lets Have Your Experience by ewizard1: 7:17pm On Mar 28, 2020 |
I have a setup too in my home but without solar. |
Re: Inverter Users : Lets Have Your Experience by ewizard1: 7:31pm On Mar 28, 2020 |
@Timileyin1234 Here's a ruff drawing of the connection. When there's no grid power, the inverter takes supplies the house from the battery/(solar during the day). When the sun is down, the battery power is used but when grid power is restored, the inverter goes to (bypass) mode and supply the house with the available grid power and at the same time charge the battery. I hope you get it better now. 4 Likes

Timileyin1234:Better. So be aware that these heavy inverters has charger inbuilt. Your kind of inverter has models with in-built chargers too. 2 Likes 1 Share |
