Again and again.. I keep saying this .. Just because you have insurance does not give you the authority to be reckless with my car.. It's either I have high moral standards or Nigerian are have low standard..
You just threw an upper cut. You dnt need it
Many nigerians here are more exposed than you guys that claims to live abroad.
Im still saying it. You are based abroad does not make u better morally than people here in d country.
Lots of them here will lecture u in many things you feels seems difficult for u to handle.
Living abroad is by choice. You choose to live there. Many prefer to live, work, run businesses here and have their vacations over there.
And some prefers to be here permanently. Everyone chooses where they live comfortably.
Most important thing is well being.
I dont like to discuss or argue about living abroad here. I usually distance myself away from it on this thread.

but i wasnt writing about about whether you should be reskless or not

your moral standards arent higher than the average Nigeria, you just happened to live in a place where if you break the laws, the consequences can be brutal in the short and long run.

Trust me sweetheart, my morals are much higher than the average Nigerian.. Let me gist you small...

About 1 year ago, I got request via nairaland. The customers requested for certain parts for his car. I went about got the items and detail the cost of the items and showed him the receipt.. The customer wanted to pay into my Nigerian account .. I said why would pay if you have not gotten the goods.. I said once your goods arrives Lagos ,you can pay me ....

Lucky enough I was in Nigeria when the goods arrive. So I called the customers and told him to come and pick up his items .. When the customer saw me ,he shock my hands was shocked and said what I did an average Nigerian will never do that.. He said I used my own money to buy the goods and I follow up with my promise. He said he wanted to meet me personally and thank me for my service ....
Two years later we are good friends.. This same man still calls me and checks on me to see how am doing...

Sweetheart my standards are higher than most nigerians . You see when you have high standards it builds confidence ..

Look at Nigeria now, if your leaders had moral standards Nigeria will be great.. Most of the youth don't have jobs ,you cant even trust most of them. The country itself is not functioning well enough....

Nigeria has more churches than school. But look around you .. The people have now become a product of their environment total chaos.. Blind leading the blind.. Nigerias don't even trust fellow Nigerias .. Everybody is scaming everyone

Why not try and learn to safe u from this yearly complains..

From the bolded, I don't think you've used any insurance company here. Maybe you listen to all the bad reviews people dish out , to form your opinion

Insurance companies in Nigeria have improved. AXA Mansard, Allianz, Leadway, Wapic are all good. We have seen people like slam.stan.lee change his side mirrors courtesy of his insurance. Even Gazzzz, on one of his rebuilding threads, had his insurance pay for the respraying of his car(Honda Accord)

Please don't listen to roadside gossips. You own a car of 1.5 million. It's wiser to use a 100k max or lesser to insure it incase of any damage, as little as a broken side mirror.

If you had insured that Elantra, the windshield and bonnets will be changed by the insurance. No arguements. Or if your driver was enlightened, he would have demanded for the third party cover of the person that caused the accident (that's if he wasn't at fault)

Insurance is very vital in this business. Sometimes, it may not be a driver's fault, but other road users. I saw an accident where a truck cleared almost five vehicles and damaged them all. Anybody with comprehensive insurance will just go and sleep.

Insure your cars sir. It's the wisest thing to do

Again you miss my point.. Just because you have insurance does not give you authority to be careless with my property......

I will give another example, last year I got a driver via nairaland. The first day on the job he got into an accident. He called me about the accident and I told him to drop the car at the mechanic to fix ...

My mechanic called me and said looking at the damage the driver is at fault. I told the mechanic to fix the car and not release the car to driver.. Few days later driver called me and ask me if the car is ready or not ..

Few days after calling my mechanic tired ,he finally got the picture that he will no longer be wrking for me. The first day on the job he is already gotten to an accident. Does that show sign of seriousness at all

My brother insurance companies in Nigeria is shitty, this is coming from a guy that leaves abroad.. The process it takes for them to answer your claim , you just give up ,and meanwhile you have to use your own money to sort it out till you get paid....

Bottom line... insurance company in Nigeria is a scam on its own. I dont depend on it . The process is so time consuming that you will be forced to give up ...
I don't believe it is fair to generalize insurance companies in Nigeria, how many did you use? Let us see their names and proof of dealing. Considering nobody posts pictures here like you do, that shouldn't be a difficult task. Thank you sir.

You said Insurance in Nigeria is just like a scam. That's what I wanted to correct.

No where did I say a driver should be careless with your car

And if you had a comprehensive insurance on your car, you wouldn't have to spend anything to fix it. The insurance would have paid your mechanic

AXA Mansard, there is another insurance company( allianz). Allianz is a multi-national company. They have branches in some countries in europe, the way they operates never changed.
I have policies with leadway assurance. And i have never had any kind of delay in the claims when it matured to cash out.
You just have to deal with the right company.
This matter is not about living abroad before he can be educated about how insurance works.
You're enlightened.

We make contribution on what we experience on daily basis on nigerian road. But urs is to lament about nigerians yet still dealing with them.
Why not just deal with people in the US if truely u are there as u usually claims.

Lol, the work is dull this period, spending longer hours out trying to break even. It just time it will pass.

Been home for 2days now. And truely work stress was telling on me. Its miraculous how rest can transform someone's looks. We are striving to get to when we chill more at home. We'll all get there before the hardwork breaks us down.

I still prefer to roll up my sleeves than do abracadabra to make money

Nobody has praised the driver for mis-handling your car.
I have zero tolerance for destructive human being. Law of karma will surely catch on whoever that destroy other people's property.
But to be on covered side, thats the reason why we adviced you insure comprehensively so that you will be covered as u are sweating on the money your driver was owing.
I can't see why that one has brought low life average and immoral thinking here.
