Yesterday, Tinubu attempted to profer a solution by advising government to quickly print more Naira in the interim so as to provide social security to the population and sustain the local economy till the crisis is over. Instead of debating the merit and demerit of his suggestion, people who don’t understand how the virus will affect our economy descended on him and accused him of looking for more money to steal. Some quack errconomist even opined that Nigeria will become Zimbabwe overnight.

Whatever the case, this is the time to start thinking of how to rescue the country from the economic recession that is staring at us in the face. If we all keep pretending that all is well, the recession that will hit us in the next few weeks is already doing press up. And this time around, it will be worse than the last one because it would be a global recession.

People react to grief in different ways, some resort to violence, others abuse, yet others indulge. It is an African thing to celebrate and engage in wild orgies during funerals. Perhaps this is the way our lawmakers engage with the Covid 19 tragedy.

The main reason for their running out of Forex was Mugabe's harebrained idea to wreck white farms which led to the destruction of their major Forex earner.

Due to low oil prices we don't have the cash to print naira or the Forex to buffer it. Printing notes would lead to crisis economically

Zimbabwe ran into trouble because of economic sanctions imposed by the west against Mugabe. Without the sanctions, the country would have survived the land policy that took away ownership of farms from the whites.

Printing Naira is an interim measure to ensure the sustainance of our local economy. Once the CoronaVirus crisis is over, the global economy will normalize and we can go back to normal economics.

Will there be inflation? Definitely. However, it can be managed. We can never get to the hyperinflation level of Zimbabwe or Venezuela. Again, it is an interim measure and not a policy to be sustained.

Told you folks since January. The pandemic was never about the 'common flu'. Check my back posts. We should never have allowed this enter Nigeria in the first place.

Listening to Tony Blair on SkyNews this morning another danger of this pandemic is Africa. The world will not be safe until all countries are free of this virus.

Extrapolating from what the former UK PM wad saying, Africa may be last region to conquer the virus within her borders holding up the world'economy.

The question will then be. Will the world wait for Africa, hekp her or just cut her off as dead weight. If the katter is the case then a recession will degenerate to an implosion of unthinkable proportions.

This is the kind of strategic thinking this goverment should be able to call upon to hedge against trouble but when it fills its ranks with agents of its narrow ideologies the country is left wide open to suffer.

Nigerians. This goverment has no visible strategy of how to win this war and then rebuild from its ruins. We are all techinally refugees.

God please forgive and bless this guy.
