The major lockdown should be large gatherings and interstate movements.

It needs to be a full shutdown if we want to slow down the spread of the virus drastically

Yes total lockdown is the best.. But it won't work here.. Let us be realistic.. No be everything we suppose they copy from oyinbo!!!.. By the time it gets to the end of the first week, then armed robbery will be on the rise from all these Okada and transport workers who make there money daily.. Govt should provide food and cash for people

This is nonsense. I have a shop on the street but I'm also advocating for a complete lock down. I close my burglary to buyers but the all gather in front of it leaning on it to buy. We need a total lock down. What's 2weeks compared to saving lives. Buy garri and sugar and keep you won't die after two weeks haba!

Only people that render essential services is to be allowed to operate.....so as to contain the spread.

If one infected person goes to make her hair at a particular shop......there is a possibility that every other person that goes to that shop also gets infected.....and then the virus keeps spreading among the occupants of the streets.

All these salary earners yearning opata, hope you guys know that an hungry person a desperate person. How sure are you that this whole thing will end in 14 days? So if it sis not, you expect someone to be lock up with no aid rendered to him/her.

So far you are talking about Nigerian police, known globally as the most useless set of criminals and fools in the world, see as they will use this period to make money, harass or even kill innocent people. Don't be surprise the Nigerian police will cause more misery and hardship at this period than corona virus.

Confusion here and there. This is the result when the president makes order and disappears. In a sane atmosphere, after president’s speech in this type of situation, he would take couples of questions to clarify some grey areas that may not be clear to common man

Note : If we hadn't voted a 'hide and seek human being' into office in the first place, we wouldn't have a 'hide and seek president'. The joke is always on us, the people. This is our fault and we have to live with it.

There is nothing bad in opening the street shop. But the reality is that the CDA too also has work to do, they should sensitice their communities about the reason of sitting at home, if possible by moving around the street with megaphone telling pple about social distancing, regular washing of their hands, preventing gathering within the street in order to prevent the spreaf

The police are keeping cool in my area. It is soldiers that are harrassing people and extorting money from them. Even provision stores, barbing saloon and mini shops are not left out. They will catch their victim, take them to sector 8 and give them serious whipping and release them later after paying a Ransom between 5k to 10k depending on what they call gravity of your offence.

The guys are thieves in military uniforms.

False information. Oga seun close this thread as it is very misleading, and might make people go out and be harmed by security forces.

The commander in chief of the Nigerian armed forces gave an order, and someone is talking about the views of the spokesman of the Lagos State Police command. Besides, this advice was given during the movement restrictions imposed by the Lagos State Government, before the total lock down by the Federal government.

If in doubt read numbers 34 to 36 of the president's soeech;

34. Based on the advice of the Federal Ministry of Health and the NCDC, I am directing the cessation of all movements in Lagos and the FCT for an initial period of 14 days with effect from 11pm on Monday, 30th March 2020. This restriction will also apply to Ogun State due to its close proximity to Lagos and the high traffic between the two States.

35. All citizens in these areas are to stay in their homes. Travel to or from other states should be postponed. All businesses and offices within these locations should be fully closed during this period.

36. The Governors of Lagos and Ogun States as well as the Minister of the FCT have been notified. Furthermore, heads of security and intelligence agencies have also been briefed.

Read again " heads of security and intelligence agencies have also been briefed". Challenged the army at your own risk. They would use you to do "for example" and we all will learn from your experience.

The Police statement was issued when Lagos state governor initially shut down open markets. It doesn't apply to the total shutdown declared by the president.
