If you update your phone, give it time to adjust. Do a force restart randomly as much as possible. I have said it here severally, you guys don't listen.

I did that more than 7times already.

I've given up jareh. I have sent quite a handful of feedbacks on Android system draining battery and dropping SOT by 1-2hrs when compared to previous updates but the problem persists. The thing now is to just enjoy whatever SOT I'm getting in peace. Android system is even above screen when it comes to power usage.

Thank God someone has spoken too. We're experiencing same thing

i doubt 720G has a better cpu ,its only more battery efficient...
The data shows that SD720G is more power chips than Mtk G90t even the way phone manufacturers chose it over Mtk G 90T and SD 730G says it all.

Mtk G90T is just optimised for Game, that is all.

Anyway long time, do u still do styff for jumia?
I v been looking for ur no.

Guys my newly gotten redmi note 7 phone seems to drain very fast for a 4000mah device
Please how do I know if it's normal or that the battery is defective so I could possibly return it.

Currently upgraded to Miui 11.0.4 from stock Miui 10 which upgrading didn't seem to help either. I'm being notified to upgrade to 11.0.7 which I doubt will change anything.

check technology jock comparison of realme 6 vs redmi note 9 pro, it appears like xiaomi intentionally limit the SD 720G performance on rn9 pro or optimization was not done properly cauz realme 6 pro is performing better compare to rn9 pro despite using same SOC
I think is ui something..

Before you accuse the phone your network is extremely terrible.

Bad network equates to bad battery life because the phone will push power to your antennas hence battery drain.

Visit the compilation thread for tips on battery management. Once again change your browsing network and make sure both Sims are not on 4G at the same time.

Another thing Disable WiFi and Bluetooth scanning. If you had visited the Xiaomi Compilation thread you will know this.

The battery isn't defective bro, the update is 100% the cause of the battery drainage. You shouldn't have updated but now that you have, my advice is that; you accept and manage the battery life as it is and always update as soon as you get notified... Since an update caused the problem, hopefully an update will fix it.

Nah not the update, the network is! The network graph has 'coat of many colors'. That sim is not what you should be using in that location of yours. Do as genius43 said.

In addition to the advice given, always download the update and flash manually. You can flash it more than once

What's the idea behind flashing the update manually? How does it prevent bugs?

Its a choice though, there's nothing wrong with 32GB ROM devices but depends on your usage and how you manage it if you're not an heavy user like that. Memory Cards, OTG drives and cloud storage options are there for you to choose from.

I'm using 32GB variant, my OTG and Google drive/photo are always available for my backup with 64GB memory card as expanded storage only.

This your analysis is extremely wrong. The network is responsible and it is evident from the network bar. A good network will have greens all through.

You guys should stop update is the cause of battery drain, no be Transsion we dey use. I have been updating for close to 2 years hardly any issue. When I see abnormal battery life, update is the last thing I think of.
