You are strong.
A guy once told me that I always be less than a house help all because I refused his financial offer and sex advance.

Today I am richer than he is. With my own money.
And God will continue to uplift you.

Someone who is much more older than me once told me " you are not smart, you are lazy, unproactive, unproductive, stupidy and psychologically subnormal" chai I no dey forget that day, but today I have been able to prove that person otherwise, success is the best revenge.

I'm happy with your success story. It shows how strong you are and the high self esteem you have. Kudos.

Truly, your experience is pretty demoralising most especially to someone with low self esteem. We really should be careful of what we say.

Just one sentence and you are guilty of what you accuse another person for, which was actually uncalled for

Today makes it exactly 5 years one of my aunts said a very painful word to me which I can never forget.

She said and I quote "the rate at which you are going this girl, 5 years from now you would have become a mother of 4 kids, all borne out of wedlock"

Today I have been able to prove her wrong, doing my masters program now whereas two of her daughters are university dropouts, as a result of unwanted pregnancy.

Hmmmm... How time flies, share yours.

This one na akamu insult for where some peeps dey.

Your cousins did you no wrong. You should have left their 'misfortune' out.

This is why I stay away from relatives

"You make me sick. I wished i had sold you off when I had the chance. You demon, you better take your tears outside and never come back. Go and die! I will never see you as a child". These words, after 10years of constant repetitions coupled with severe trouncing, were etched into every fibre of my being. One day, I prayed for the pain, the tears, guilt, anger, fear, anxiety to disappear and they did, eventually along with every other emotions. I don't know what's worse; the fact that I don't feel the emotions anymore but I still hear the words with the same intensity and disdain it was spoken with, or the fact that I wished I could relive the experience all over so I could feel again. .

Lol, I won't answer you Mr punctuation error judge. I hope you know there's what we call 'typing error'? Additionally, am a science student and not an English graduate. However, 100 of your miserable species combined can't stand me in spoken English. Idiot!
you would have defended your M.Sc pedigree by just ignoring him. U just confirmed his insinuations by losing your cool.

We are always quick to condemn and criticize. Do you know that there are factors that could affect someone's competency? Both in One's L1 and second language.

It's not masters program but master programme. Take correction.

Yeah, it sounds right. That's what most people will say. It is, however, wrong.

A possessive pronoun should be used before "being a science student".

I can't remember the exact rule (the name of the rule). I studied all the rules when I did jamb some years back. I don't remember all the rules anymore, but they've become ingrained in my language. Now, I just know what is right and what is wrong intuitively.

Please, I don't want to argue further. Google " My being here vs me being here" to get a little insight. You may let me know what you think afterwards.

Shalom.

My uncle's wife, some twenty something years ago, said I'll end up as an agbero (garage boy), but today I'm a parmanent resident of Canada, and I have monthly standing order with my bank for her monthly up keep grin

When I was in JSS 3, my uncle reffered me to see his son, who I'm older than, is now in SSS3. Today I holds a Masters degree and a certificate in epidemiology from Harvard University, School of Public Health. The son didn't go pass the SSS 3.

It's all to the glory of God. No be my power.

But me self get wàhálà that time óoo, I can make trouble for Africa grin

shocked

My was in 2017.

It really pained me, every time I remember it I always cry.

It was when Buhari called Nigerian youths "lazy Nigerian youths" upon all our hard works.
Meanwhile his son Yusuf is lazing about in Abuja riding nd crashing power bike.

But still can't get it why ladies don't let off go what someone said to them

If you go by what people say, you'll just be sad for nothing.

Women have the most poisonous tongue yet they are the ones that never forget when slighted by others.

Quite often, people who talk condescendingly on you are doing you a favour. You try not to let their opinion of you manifest in your life.

In general you have to weigh things. The uncle, aunt or neighbour who bad-mouthed you may have been good to you in other ways. Never forget that too.

I have heard a few of such loose talk by people. Their opinions were never true anyway. Their kids were far far worse, so I concluded it was just envy.

The first time a girl said "NO" to me
I really felt bad cry

She was, like...
"u wan add me to ur queue of girls, ABI?"
(she smiled and continued with...)
You know what? Let's just be friends, OK?".

.....those words she said to me that day she rejected my advances(in my House) are probably the only words anyone has ever said to me that really hurt.

Or maybe it's just the only painful words I REMEMBER being thrown at me
