Covid-19 Patient Dies In Spill Over Ward At Luth Idi-araba by Pitoto(m): 4:58pm On Apr 03, 2020
A Corona patient died in the early hours of today Friday the 3rd day of April,2020 at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Idi-Araba.
The patient was taken to the spill over ward of the Accident and Emergency Unit and while the nurses on duty were asking questions and travel history due to the patient having difficulty breathing, they discovered various twists to the answers given by the relatives..
The relatives claimed the patient has had difficulty breathing before while in Amsterdam and had been treated a long time ago and that the patient came into Nigeria November 2019.. The relatives did not allow the patient say a word but when the nurses on duty noticed the answers were not straight forward and the patient was showing signs of the virus, they chased the relatives out and asked the patient series of questions, that's when they discovered that the patient came in on Thursday from Amsterdam.
They quickly removed the patient from the ward and sanitized the whole ward and informed the state government...
The patient however died and the Covid 19 arm of the Lagos State Ministry of Health came to evacuate the body..
The nurses were really upset with the patient and relatives for hiding it and putting other patients in the hospital at risk since they are sick and their immune systems at the lowest. They made them know that they did a foolish thing by hiding it when they could have come forward and the patient gets help early..

I thought they have cancelled flights. Are people still coming into this country from abroad?

I hope this is not true because where will I start blaming them?

From the govt that still allow people in, the family that allowed a visitor from high risk zone, the family keeping a sick traveller at home at this time, the traveller himself,......

This is damn serious

Wicked people! I keep saying government should keep all abroad returnees in a government isolation center near the airport for 14-days. I'm sure very few of them will return to Nigeria if they know they'll be in a government facility for 14 days undecided

The relatives have virtually put everyone that came in contact with the patient at risk of contracting the virus. Wait ooo. Is the border still open??
