GST is for single peeps while child benefit is for married peeps right?.. A married person can't apply for GST right ?

Thanks
GST is for single and married as long as you qualify based on income... Child benefit is for anybody with child (single parent or married)

You are not eligible..you haven't worked nor have you payed tax..you don't have CRA account. How would you want to get GST/PST.You can't apply for EI or the new CERB package since you never settle in the system.

Haba. Please calm down o! So long as 2018 income is declared and found to be eligible, new arrivals are eligible to receive GST/HST. They might even be eligible for the gbosa one that will be paid on the 9th.

You can get GST. Cheques are sent to you with or without CRA account. Can't apply for EI. But he can apply for GST

When applying for GST you can even fill in your bank details so you get direct deposit.

It's based on income not marital status. Single or married gets GST based on family income. Single or married parent also gets CCB based on family income.

From the wording of your screenshot it seems the application for CCB includes GST. Thanks for sharing the shot.

Thanks. I didn’t want to reply her because I thought her response was a bit standoffish and contrary to what I’ve read and researched. Anyway, I’ve filled the form and would submit soonest.

So now you’re asking questions for things you didn’t know. I’ll do what you didn’t do, I’ll explain to you.

You can fill your income for 2018 and 2019 on the same form!

Thanks for your understanding. **peace**

There is no harm in trying. Let CRA decide if they qualify or not.

Seniors, any guidance on GST/HST credit... Being a newcomer and unable to get a job or know how long this lockdown would last for, is it advised to apply as soon as possible, and from experience is there any demerits with applying so soon?

Would appreciate honest replies... Thanks
If you came before April 2020 and over 19 years of age, and dont have kids, Fill the RC151 form(check for on the CRA website) and send to your tax centre. you will declare your 2018 and 2019 income converted to CAD before you came to Canada. You Qualify as long as you are PR or have a valid work permit .

It's okay not to know everything. You might have forgotten what applies to a newcomer. He's not wrong and should apply as chinchum outlined above.
