COVID-19: Alarm in Osun as six persons who tested positive escape from isolation centre

The Osun State government has launched a manhunt for six persons with confirmed infection of COVID-19 who escaped from an isolation centre in Ejigbo on Friday night.

The six persons belong to a cluster of COVID-19 cases who returned to their hometown, Ejigbo, from Ivory Coast last week and were quarantined by the state government.

A statement from the government which disclosed this gave the names of the six persons with their phone numbers.

The Osun State border should be heavily cordoned and all neighbouring states should restrict entry from Osun. Those guys have mission to accomplish. All the way from Ivory Coast, they have the virus and on a mission to launch in Nigeria

What should you expect from a poor and unhospitality called isolation center. They might possibly feel insecure and treat to life. I think there should be proper orientation for the victims of this virus and make them feels at home in the isolation center. Give them proper treatment and care they never get before in thier entire life. Make them feel better than a victim of circumstance and see if any of them would run away thereafter.

When Umahi ordered shoot at sight for escapees some people were calling him a dictator.
These foolish six will definitely infect more people before they are apprehended.

I blame the state governor who did not lock down the border as other SW states did.
If he was more proactive, the over 100 suspected carriers will not have entered the state.
We are in an emergency, yet some governors are being irresponsible.

I expect Osun case to increase soonest.

I hope the FG scrap the plan to evacuate Nigerians from infested countries.
Some of the evacuees will do anything to avoid quarantine and thus put people's lives at risk.
