@OP That's because they are paid in dollars, the standard practice in Oil and gas companies..

What is worrisome here is how poor the Naira is valued against the dollar

this is a realistic pay in the oil sector for almost all oil companies on that list

Those initial rates are valid.

N5.8m per annum in Total?

Even OND Engineering graduates working in Total and ExxonMobil earn more than double that
N5.8m as their gross pay working as Production Operators on FPSOs and Offshore platforms.

Thrash. Your corrupt nigerian politicians dont own these companies. Be competent in what you do and if they need your services you may just be hired!

It does not exactly work that way

Yes there is room for merit

But that room is very small compared to the room for abracadabra.

If I tell you what I have seen eh
Even with these companies that "supposedly" hire on merit

You go shock

No Healthcare and technology.

Nigeria has invested in oil and the most paying jobs in Nigeria are in the oil sector. They disregarded Healthcare and technology. Now that the people they need to live are nowhere to be found and little to no Healthcare facilities are equipped, I guess its will sound better if I say you reap what you sow.

Globally, the oil industry pays very well. It's not a Nigerian thing rather the country ought to have had a diversified economy. Surprisingly, oil company jobs aren't that coveted in the US compared to management consulting, tech and finance. That's the difference between a diversified and mono product economy.

At entry-level? No. At senior management level? Yes.

Do you have an idea of how much a Juniour staff or seniour staff earn per annum?

You are wrong. It is only NNPC those shit happens. In these companies stated above, you must be intelligent and can pass the tests. These companies are profit oriented and not the typical government establishments.
A lot of common men children are working there just that the competition is high. I remember when i did one entry level mobil test, i was competing with lots of 2.1s and first class from all over Nigeria and abroad. On seeing the caliber of people that came for the test, i lost hope even before writing the test. Best graduating students of different universities. I just weak. Lol but thank God for everything at the end.

You mean you got the job?

These companies up here hire more than 90% of their staff on merit. They have room for community recruitment which is a very tiny percentage. One thing I'll tell you for a fact is that there'sno government influence or nepotism in their recruitment except for contract staff.

I picked up the letter for him at there Lugard office in Ikoyi and read out the contents before sending to him via DHL . The figure out there for seplat is wrong

Exactly.

They pay well in oil and gas. But they fire easily. Especially now that crude is super low

Banks and telecoms pay relatively well too

Junior staff aka entry-level? I saw 133K excluding allowances on the NL thread but I'd ask a friend who resumed recently. Senior? No idea but way higher than a counterpart in Total.

If it is impossible, then I reckon those earning it are living the unattainable dream of others.

Oilfield Service Companies like Halliburton, GE, BakerHughes and Schlumberger are the only IOCs that pay entry level Engineers below N10m pa, all the oil producing IOCs pay around and above N20m pa for their Engineers and Geologists/Scientists.

You can believe otherwise but generally IOCs pay their staff in Nigeria to what their colleagues earn overseas because they could be posted to work there and vice versa.
I wonder who keeps feeding you ppl with all this wrong informations.
A very good friend of mine , was a staff of total. But this guy resigned his job n migrated to usa with his family. Guess what he is doing there now
An Uber driver.
