I spoke to a guy he told me one if you a graduate you get your transcript and submit to Wes that cost some money
Also IELTS cost some money
And I think you need to get your resume standard like that of Canadian own then upload on LinkedIn
You can go with your family likewise

What is the proof of funds for this pathway?
I know it says Proof of funds is not required, but what if I have 5 dependents to accompany me, a spouse and 4 children, and I am on a salary of 14 cad per hour, will immigration allow me in with no proof of funds to take care of all the dependents accompanying me?

I don’t think you are expected to bring your family along. I see a lot of Filipino come in with this visa but they don’t bring their family till they have applied for PR. If you want to bring your family, look into express entry or provincial nominee program.

No they won't even give you the visa in the first place.

You don't need to come with your family at first. Wait for a year or two when you are qualified for PR then you include your spouse and children. They will all be entitled to PR automatically by then. This is the best option for you.

Thank you, But it says expressly that the caregiver pathway allows to bring in family at the first instance.

My question has to do with POF for accompanying family members.

There are so many reasons why VO will deny anyone visa especially Nigerians, even if the law allows you to bring your family. That's why I try to educate you to use the best option as advised above. Everyone will always prefer to travel with his/her family but being a Nigerian complicate issue except if it is through Express Entry.

Anyway, you may hold above 20k Canadian Dollars as you try your luck.

@Twinkleberyl @Ope4Christ @Pleasant19

Thanks all for you contributions. I think Twinkleberyl is right though as the Caregiver Pathway is essentially an immigration pathway with fees for PR paid upfront.

What concerns me though is proof of financial ability to maintain a family of 5 based on a caregiver minimum wage which is usually between 13 and 16 CAD per hour. Will the VO give approval if there is no proof of other funds apart from the wages associated with the Caregiver job one already has?

Hello all, I suggest you read this

This is the old program, the new one just started last year July, you can go to Canada as a home child care provider or home support worker, but you need a Canadian citizen or permanent resident to offer you employment in any of the two occupations.

But as usual Nigerians are slow to take advantage of legal means.

Instead of Nigerians that are already Citizens or PR in Canada now to take advantage and offer people jobs so that more Nigerians will move they won't, in a few years you will see how Indians and Filipinos will take advantage of this easy route for themselves.

Don't see it that way. I know a lot of people that are interested in using this process to bring family and friends but they have recently migrated and need to be earning enough to take care of their expenses and pay at least minimum wage to a home care provider. Imagine someone earning just above minimum wage, how are they going to be able to afford it?

Fair enough, I'm just pissed at the Indians, Filipinos and Chinese always find a way to help themselves legally while Nigerians always carry last...

Hi

Thank you for this thread, I'll love to give this a shot, but I have a question. When an employer say she willing to sponsor you, what does it mean? Is it your travel fund ? Also, the live in Long term job hunt, does it mean the employer must be will to accommodate you and your family? Thanks in advance

Firstly, to get into Canada to work as a caregiver, you have 2 options:
1. Work outside the province of Quebec:
The only way here if you are applying from outside Canada is through the home child care or home support worker immigration pilot. Requires: ielts clb 5, 1 year post secondary and a job offer. No LMIA required. Live in may not be neccessary. You can arrive Canada with your family

2. Work in the province of quebec;
The only way here is through the temporary foreign worker program for live in caregiver and it requires that your employer submits an LMIA to hire you. Requires 9 months caregiver training or 1 year paid caregiver work experience. You may not be able to arrive Canada with your family because all you will be getting is a temporary work permit that will expire in 2 years and you will need to show that you have something or someone that ties you back to your home country or convice the Visa officer that you will return back to your country at the expiration of your work permit. Though its possible to extend it or apply for permanent residence in Quebec after at least 1 year of working in Canada.
Live in may not be mandatory.

If an employer wants to sponsor or pay for your relocation costs, they will tell you or it will be spelt out in the job contract.
Live in arrangement for a caregiver arriving with family...you may have to find out from your employer what type of arrangement they have for you...cos it could be just a room in their house or a basement apartment. But its something your employer has to clarify themself.

Everything in life is about planning. If you truly have the zeal to immigrate, everything will come easy, don't depend on what a guy said, conduct your own research as well, information is power. All the best

One thing i know about this pilot is that it does not require any proof of fund. It is actually the only immigration work permit pilot with NO PROOF OF FUND.
However, you need the following things:

1) Canadian styled Resume with a Canadian Phone Number
2) LinkedIn account with a professional profile picture
3) Professionally crafted Cover Letter
4) IELTS Exam with at least 5 Band Score (#75k)
5) Qualification assessment with WES(Canada)(#65K)
6) Free Certificate exam in First Aid, CPR and AED(Optional but better). Check out www.firstaidforfree.com

If anybody is interested in Home Support Work Pilot, i can post some job links here for you to apply. Just indicate interest.

I think getting job from outside canada is the most difficult criteria of the pilot program. If you know agencies that will employ Nigerians, let us know.

I have researched about the pilot program, specifically the home support worker program. I called a very close family friend in Canada and explained everything to him. He said he will make enquiries on how to draft the offer letter. Please is there anyone here who received an offer, I want to know what and what that should be included in an offer apart from job description and salary, since offer of a job is the first major criteria
