Hahaha. It is OK, Good People. cheesy Mr. Segun responded based on the information at his disposal. You see say me no even say anything. Anyone with a basic knowledge of international diplomacy will know that begging for ventilators on Twitter was disgraceful.

How it started
The decision to embark started June/July 2017; my family looked at the economic situation, and thought, with these bunch of jokers in Govt, it is best to have a plan B.
We are average income earners, so my wife and I had to combine funds to make POF. For a family of 4, we pooled the needed POF.

Passport
Passport for family done around Feb, 2018.

IELTS
Wifey and I wrote, around Nov 2018. As at then, i didnt really know you had to score Listening with 8, and writing, minimum of 7; but one thing with me in the exam hall was a mindset, that i am not wasting 75k to write this exam twice. So i died there, and made the needed mark.
I used Liz, you tube some other tutors i can’t recall their names now, even bought the past question for 5k or so from british council.
Tips- try watch you tube videos, and practice reading, speaking. Also try write some essays before the exam day.
The writing exam has a formula, do yourself a favor and follow the formula; please, simply follow the formula.
I recommend, Jay and Liz. Watch their vidoes. Thats all.

Sadly, wifey which I admit is academically smarter than me, had to write this exam three times, but still couldn’t make the writing and in one case the listening. Thus I ended up being the principal applicant. We planned her being the principal applicant because she was younger, and also since her brother is in ONTARIO, so we could claim 15 points.

ECA--WES
Looking back now, I suggest you begin this part first because it takes a whole lot of time. Your IELTS results can be ready within two weeks, but your ECA report cannot. Ours took like 5 months.
We did ours during the compulsory WAEC requirement; started around Nov 2018 and got it around Feb 2019. By then I had already lost 5 points due to age, so I ended up going the Ontario provincial nominee route-will explain this later.
Tip*If you have a BSC and MSC, I suggest you evaluate both, as you will never know when it will become handy. Infact, you might still need the Bsc certificate you didn’t evaluate. I agree its time consuming, but since it costs same amount of money, why not just do it.
Wife also had Msc which she evaluated alone, but looking back now, she preferred to had evaluated both Bsc and Msc.

ONTARIO PROVINCIAL NOMINEE(OINP)
My spouse and I initially planned for express entry but as I stated earlier, since WES report couldn’t come on time, and because wifey didn’t pass IELTS, we had to embrace the OINP offer when it came up- it costs us more, by like N420K or so, but happy we took it the offer looking back now.
This was another experience on its own, the documentations, waiting and all that, but glad it came out fine, and I went straight to receive our 600 points.
The OINP was quite tasking, didn’t know anyone having done it before, so I had to study, read, and read a lot of information so I could get it right.

MEDICALS
Nothing serious, spent whole day; wifey had protein, and had to redo the test, which came out fine.

GENERAL TIPS
Keep your application simple. Very simple. I recall that my Letter of Explanation was just one page.
I explained on proof of funds with 3 lines; explained on work experience with few lines- used to work in now defunct Intercontinental Bank, now acquired by ACCESS Bank. I didn’t claim point from this but since it was in my work history, I thought I should explain.
Keep your Linked in profile up to date, and let it reflect the information you provided in your work history.
Delete your browsing history, delete your Nairaland account if you have had unpleasant profile online before- by unpleasant, i mean if you were someone like …LOL!!!

Work experience- take your time and identify your correct NOC code- work with your HR to prepare this letter in approved format.
Proof of Fund- Be very detailed and show proof of your income while working.
Our POF was Tbills, with Stanbic IBTC, which was quite straightforward.
Above all, pray, and keep your mind at ease. Don’t be shady, don’t forge, don’t hide anything, these guys will find a way of knowing.
I recall during OINP application, I mistakenly missed like 2 pages of my passport while scanning- these guys had to give me ADR to rescan again.
This is my way of giving back to this community. I hope it helps someone out there.
We are still waiting, due to COVID-19; But we know tomorrow holds a good gift for us.

Thanks boss...I doubt they are open this period though.
I'll do that once the corona restriction is lifted. Thanks again

Go to the transcript verification office and plead with/persuade the guy in charge. Betterstill, you should drag a lecturer or any staff with you. With that, the confirmation will happen in a week.

It took about 3 months, several visits to PG school and eventually worded mails to the Provost and Deputy Registrar Exam and Records before they responded to WES' verification mail when I did my ECA last year.
U.I NASU has been on strike for a while, coupled with the shutdown of schools by Covid-19, it might take them a while to respond to the verification mail.

You can PM me for a contact.

Oh I did....I thought it thoroughly through and considered the different reasons why he/she may have been in that situation, which may or may not have been under his/her control. You obviously do not understand how these things work outside of your perspective or assumptions....there's more to life than meets the eye. Thanks @ednut1 for attempting to explain further, I can only hope that the message has been received. Obtaining PPR mail after 10 months would only leave a person with about one month to land before medical/COPR expiry. We cannot afford to be myopic in our thinking on this thread, otherwise, no one would be able to help the other. Again, I want to employ you not to hastily respond, particularly with ugly responses, to people....it's better to simply move on if you're unable to render any help.

And you that is over sabi have u helped the op?

Even if u are 30 u are lucky; u don't kniw wat God has done for u.. i pray ur bcs scales through.

Please focus on maxing out on ur ielts and u ll still be on 470. The score will also come down any back to back draw.

All d best dear..

Its well.

This Covid thing is just depressing me. Before now I was so happy that I would get to enter the pool before my birthday and won't have to loose any points as I'm currently 29. But now with almost everything paused I don't know what will happen. I just requested for my transcript from my uni and was about to write IELTS as I had just written BCS exams this march before everything just went on a halt. Even the BCS results that usually take 2 months to come out, heaven knows when it will come out now before someone will now send it to Wes too. So much time!!!!!!!
Also I'm on this journey on my own so there's no hope of even getting more points to help my own in case. I don't know where I was when God was sharing boyfriends and husbands it's well o
Sorry for ranting guys. Just felt so worried this morning. May all our heart desires come true, Amen.

Good afternoon Fam.

I finally got my WES report after 8months
Bsc ( Bachelors degree for years)
Cipm (Bachelors degree three years)

I sincerely appreciate everyone on this platform for the willingness to help others. I initially wanted to evaluate only BSC but after spending time reading this thread I realized I could also evaluate CIPM( had this in 2017) to get 2 or more certificates.
My Wes verification with school took months, I appreciate those that reached out and helped. God bless you all.

It will end in praise.

pls how did you process CIPM for evaluation? I really need your feedback pls

I really want the draws to happen because I have loved ones waiting in the pool but there's really a number of considerations.. millions of people have lost their jobs and are jobless now.. About 25% of Albertans are expected to be jobless and you think the draws will continue as normal ? They have to put Canada in order first and allow the pandemic to come to a minimal level.

target is around 350 immigrants a year with ee and pnp being about 150k. You think oyinbo will stop something that is earning them money in application fees and POF being brought to boost the economy. A pr holder can always go back to his home country for 3 years before relanding.

I'm not expecting it to be stopped completely, nah.. just like a pause.. How can you be needing more people while many on ground are jobless? layoffs here and there... did you read the links above?

seen them before. Alberta was already having issues before corona. Canada pr is not a wait and get pr. Most people that will get invited now will probably go mid next year. The economic situation will not last forever. They have resumed medicals back. Does that look like they want to pause anything.they did not lock borders to most migrants and students too.

Alberta isn't the only province experiencing this, just an example. I didn't say anywhere in my post that the situation will last forever....well, it's looking like it is (was) in a pause, when was the last FSW draw and have activities been like normal?? You can't pretend that a lot haven't been affected by this pandemic.

The resumption of medicals gives us hope actually and I sincerely share in your optimism and hope things resume fully soon...cheers.

One person’s application fee is not even enough to pay a staff’s bi weekly salary, remember they have to pay the people working too. I think the Government makes the most money when people actually work and pay taxes.
