If they don't leave there'll be no space for other doctors to do their residency program. Your 6 years has expired, your employment letter never said you are a full employee rather a doctor on residency training. Its expected that at most in 6yrs you should have passed your part 1&2 to become a consultant.

This is how residency program run in Nigeria. So it's nothing new.

It's no big deal residency program stipulated for 6years & they failed to meet the criteria better they should go so others can come in. 30 doctors in question are to greedy what of others who are still waiting without getting placement for residency

You see, pdp supporters wont bare their fangs here, all because the governor of the state involved is a pdp member.

Imagine what would happen should a doctor with a Federal Medical Centre get sacked today. Oh, it would be like the moon is about to crash into the earth, thanks to Buhari and his foolishness.

Here one of theirs is sacking doctors, yet the same people who cant criticize this are busy insulting the government to hell for getting additional help from the doctors of another country.

Such confident hypocrites.
Did you read the letter? It's not about politics, doctors are playing a game. Please read

If they were sacked today or probably yesterday, how’s the letter dated November 2019 nd the expiration of their residency December 2019

Has anyone read the content of the letter. That's not a sack letter... Their training is supposed to end within 6years and they were given option to reapply within 2 weeks.

It's very incensitive of the CMD to do this at this time that you need all hands on deck. But they should stop parading it as Sack letter and stop creating misleading drama.
Have YOU read the letter
Did YOU read the date on the letter?

This time when the whole world is scrambling to get as many medical personnel as possible?! Some people in helms of affairs actually have fufu as brain.

The termination letters were issued in November 2019, has nothing to do with covid 19.

They were also given chance to reapply for reengagement. I do not know why it took them this long to complain.

The way some people think is appalling.

Doctors are needed now to combat this coronavirus and someone with no brains is sacking these ones!

It is well oooooo

The decision was taken before covid 19. Check the date.

Now that Doctors are in high demand?

Advanced Nations are recalling their medical personel who are retired back to service to help in the fight against this virus?

Nigeria who use your pants do Yahoo?

Check the date on the termination letters. And they were given chance for reengagement.

I think it is unfair to engage someone for 6 years for a 5-6 year program. At least a grace of 1 - 2 years should have been given.

But why didn't the residents apply for reengagement within the stipulated period specified in the letter?

And where is NMA Venue state, can't they intervene?

How could you sack medical Doctors at a time like this?

I think they have no choice than to take this decision, with the way doctors are now behaving, imaging a doctor will say he would only attend to just five patients in a day because of corona virus, forgetting that they are being paid by tax payer money.

Las las= I was in the hospitals for an emergency and I was ask to come in a week time to book an appointment with a specialist, what I see nearly gave me heart attack that I will be able to see the doctor in a six month time.

fairness is an ethical question that Rotarians ask

Is it fair to all concerned?

Training slots are VERY limited. There are thousands who cannot get a place. Is it fair to them?
It is important to consider ALL stakeholders
There are hungry players on the bench waiting to come on.
Those who get the chance to play must make the best of it.

I guess you an insider, if you are then you and I know what it takes to pass parts I and II exams. In many instances candidates don't have control over who pass the exams; subjectivity is an important factor.

And for those who are waiting on the bench, of what benefit is it if they too could be ask to leave after being introduced onto the field.

Nigeria should learn from other countries. If you cannot pass in 6 years leave the training cadre and take a Medical Officer contract. People could be allowed to take exams as Medical officers. The Medical Officer should earn more than a resident and make a financial contribution to his training
The system should not be constipated
