Why change tactics... Let them remain in their barracks waiting to "repel" attacks!!!...

If it's to destabilize elections or shoot at unarmed protesters they will be quite adept at switching dumb tactics... A war that has lasted over a decade, you would think the biggest army in Africa would have completely dispatched a ragtag band of paid mercenaries, and even moved on to other neighboring nations... This is the Nigerian army I grew up knowing... Now, politics and greed have reduced them to weaklings and sheep. Even Chad is setting examples for them... Chad of all nations!!!

Don't you want BH to be defeated by Nigeria army?

Just because you don't have believe/confidence in your own words/actions does not make others so.

Try and be positive for once instead of being bad Belle to the progress of this nation. Achieves don't lie..

It appears to me that it is reported that the VP is merely suggesting a possible solution. This is not the time for ordinary talk but action. If Osinbanjo is planted at Aso Rock by Nigerians to proffer solution to Nigerian problems, why is he talking like a slave, suggesting solution to his master. Reporters sha Eni kure. As a matter of fact, if they are really serious with boko harram issue, bokoharam by now should have been a thing of the past, I think they already failed in that respect. 2023 is still a long way though. Whatever they know, they should do, we are tired of their security reports, we are not soldiers. What we want is a stop to all these heartless killings, kidnapping and displacement.
Re: Osinbajo’s Strategy For Ending Boko Haram War by Jiokejohn: 8:34am On Apr 10, 2020
Success can never be achieved without sincerity of purpose.
I tell you most solemnly, I will hardly believe the resolution of this APC led government war against Boko haram.
Of a truth, approach of Nigerian soldiers toward civilian citizens left much to be desired. For instance, if soldiers were deployed to curb arm robbery and kidnapping, they will be maltreating members of the said community with impunity. Sighting a young guy sipping ice cream with his girlfriend in a bus stop, they will enviously summon them to humiliate the guy in presence of his girlfriend. Subjecting him to frog jumps, lying on the floor and sundries. With such attitudes, members of the community will lose confidence on them, cordial relationship is murdered and their will be no synergy to execute their mission successfully. Before you know it, members of the community will turn against them and start leaking information on soldiers activities to the miscreants. Can such be effectively achieved in such scenario? Their counterparts in other clime are always friendly to members of their host community. Winning their hearts, confidence, friendship with excessive hospitalities. With this strategy, information on miscreants or enemies are always at their doorsteps and missions are successful accomplished.
On the issue of series of ambush being laid against our soldiers, what stop our government from equipping them with aerial surveillance drones to secure their movements and activities since they are in war zone.
I insist that government of the day is using this Boko haram situation to enrich themselves. Otherwise, why such ambushes are not being laid whenever top government officials and service chiefs are visiting the war zone?
Finally, why are they releasing captured Boko haram members on whatever guise? How will Nigerians feel if Evans, the kidnapper is released tomorrow to the society as repented kidnapper?

We are so lucky to have this man as our vice president, I like the part where he said.......

"Instead of the usually aggressive and antagonistic disposition of the soldiers towards the local population, the Vice-President believes that blending well with the locals in the ongoing battle could swing the pendulum of victory in favour of the military. This option should be explored above every other to bring the seemingly unending war to a closure"

May God continue to elaborate you Mr vice president (Amen)

I totally agree with the Vice President, no asymmetric war far can be won without having the cooperation of the civilian around that environment. Our Military should quickly adopt this strategy now
Re: Osinbajo’s Strategy For Ending Boko Haram War by Wada3: 8:44am On Apr 10, 2020
No doubt, this Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo is a rare gift to this country. Our men in the battle field should as a matter of urgency adapt this strategy suggested by the Vice President
Re: Osinbajo’s Strategy For Ending Boko Haram War by Ibasalin(m): 8:46am On Apr 10, 2020
Chad government don't have relationship with BH that's lead to their victory but believe me sincerely Nigeria government cannot deny their relationship with this deathly group even some soldiers sabotage the effort of gallant one only in process of operation. Is only God can safe this country.
Re: Osinbajo’s Strategy For Ending Boko Haram War by Wada3: 8:49am On Apr 10, 2020
Some of you seems to be getting it wrong. Instead of commending the Vice President for this patriotic suggestion to the Military, you are here trying to politicise it. Remember, the VP is not the commander in chief, he did what is expected of him.

The VP had made a clear point here. Intelligence gathering is one of the surest ways of winning this war. This can't be done without gaining the confidence of the locals
