If this is true then we are in for a big trouble. Presently in ofa in kwara state a professor of medicine according to the people staying there confirmed that the professor was treated a UK returned that happened to die of coronavirus and some Alfa when in to do the normal Muslim rite on the burial.
The neighboring company like erinla in kwara state have block there boundaries not to allow someone from ofa in kwara state to past down to there community and likewise oyan in odo otin local government. Is well with Nigeria oooo
Not every contact will contract the virus...
The Italian index case in Lagos had 179 traced contacts but only 1 tested positive.

Furthermore, not every infected person will develop symptoms...
For example, that 1 Italian trace contact never developed symptoms.

Covid-19 spreads rapidly but it is not a death sentence...
Thus far, over 80% of positives will show mild symptoms or NONE at all.

That is why we should ALL act as if we are positive...
And persist with good hygiene, isolation and social distancing.

We must prepare for the worst...
While working and hoping for the best. Good luck to us all.

You are saying the truth. Dont mind those who are taking this shit as a joke. Cases are increasing. Community infection is now rife in Nigeria. Italy and Spain and Ney York loading in Nigeria
I strongly believed discharge case will keep increasing as new case increases and the death rate will be very slow. We don't have the best facilities but we have Grace. Let the health officials just keep up the good fight.

Facts are coming that almost all deaths are now reported to be of COVID-19 in Italy & figures deliberately hicked in US even if its of cancer or heart attack. I hope we have not imported that also.
It’s a new virus...
So we do not really know what really kills all of it victims.

In COVID cases where the infected person also has an underlying or other serious health condition...
There’s not been enough studies to determine if it’s the pre-existing condition that’s exacerbated and kills them or if it kills independently.

Their are equations/formula use to project the likely time(base on the rate of increase in confirmed cases) we will reach the peak and the possible no of cases at the peak, but all this are subject to factors like this lockdown, hand washing etc
okay, thanks very much for your time. grin

At the peak, the curve flattens.
Meaning that if the measures already used are maintained or upped, the only thing that will happen is slowing down in new cases, deaths etc
That's what I know about it.
So like america has reached the peak or will soon reach the peak.
For naija I dont know cos the way they release the figures dey somehow.
But it looks like lagos is far from reaching its peak sha
Okay, thanks very much. I think China is close to the peak then.

Two popular Galaxy smartphones are losing support.

After around four years, Samsung has largely abandoned update support for the two popular smartphones Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge: in future, both cell phones will only be equipped with the security updates that are very important for device balance in exceptional cases. More on this in the further text.

Thank God for you. I agree with you on the way out of this virus. The vitamin aspect is key to the fight.
nonny400:
I had to boost my immune system. Took vitamins and chloroquine. And enough vitamins.

The fever left, the dry cough left, but my sense of taste and smell were gone even though I had no catarrh. I did my research and found out it's common among and temporary, and truly it's gradually returning.

I'm not qualified for an antibody test due to my mild symptoms, so...

Truly, we do have Covid-19 in Nigeria but i dont believe these new cases that keeps rising everyday. It all a hoax, they should show us patients on TV and blur their faces to prevent stigimitization. Thats why people in the grassroot do not believe in this virus.

hello Jack! Can you kindly explain this peak thing or direct me to a link where I can read about it.

what's about this peak of a thing and virus diseases. I've seen it somewhere else too.
It simply means we're in the incubation period of the virus. All those hard hit countries were once in our shoe weeks ago. We'll get to the peak some weeks to this time. We need prayers now cos the peak won't be funny.

There's already community transmission and I suggest you call NCDC if you are showing symptoms and follow their advicr

I don't understand this whole thing, why can't u people just subtract the discharged number and give us the remaining number of infected people so we can know whether is getting better or worse
It's simple epidemiological stastics and it applies globally. Number of confirmed cases reflects the number of people who has ever tested positive to the virus. Regardless of the outcome or current status that number of confirmed cases will never change.

Mongomeyen:
Have they discharged that their index case, has she done another test that came out negative?
Even if the case has been discharged the person was confirmed positive by test and that statistic will never change, only the outcome (ie death or discharged) will change. I have seen a lot of people arguing a case with an outcome should be removed as confirmed. Unfortunately, it's not so as evidenced by the globally recognised epidemiological tool used for assessing the statistics of infectious diseasss.

Ethically you can't disclose any patient's details without their express consent unless they choose to do so themselves. Doing otherwise amounts to breach of confidentiality. Boris Johnson updated the public about his health because he choose to do so further necessary considering he holds the most important position in the UK Govt as the PM and before any patient or their details was shown as you saw in the international media their consent was obtained from them or close family relatives. Abba Kyari is a presidential staff not the president hence his portfolio is not vital enough to have his confidentiality breached without his consent.

In addition, as regards our mentality it would be difficult to get many people to disclose their status because of fear of stigmatization and this is one of the reasons contact tracing in Nigeria is very difficult.

Before you argue about this, I'm a Doctor trained in Nigeria and practising in the UK hence the information provided above is verifiable. For more information; visit the MDCN page(Medical and dental council of Nigeria) or search on google for more information about patient confidentiality and consenting. Cheers
