I can only speak of what I'm sure of. Aside that, packages don't go through Lagos NIPOST but IMPC complex at MMIA where untracked items are moved to zonal offices and registered are moved to states. IF Lagos GPOs receive packages,
they might distribute to POs but won't open for public service.

Please what happens to our packages stuck in China. Will they be kept in a warehouse until the airports are open? My item is showing its at Beijing international airport since 22nd march.

I have received a lot of parcels that way, especially Anker products, sometimes it takes just 8 days to get to me and most times its always still showing "left country of origin".

The delays in updating the status or whereabouts of the item is a man made factor. When it lands here, they may delay in logging it into the system and all. Hence those misnomers.

I like this platform although I'm only new to this topic section but I'd try to add my light to yours as times go by. I know quite a bit in the system so I'd assist as much as I can but I still want to know how you guys import iPhones and samsungs and don't get to pay custom duties cos when I was at their office in NAHCO Ikeja international airport, what the customs people do is sieve through the parcels looking for phones and tablets then attach custom duties on them... That was when I had a duty attached to my item and I went complaining, the duty was reduced drastically after i escalated it.

there is this phone I bought from Aliexpress, Redmi 8a. The phone left China, it never arrived. So, somehow, I got Enugu post office contact number from Google. I called the line and the man picked. I asked him if this was Enugu post office and he said yes. I gave him the tracking number of the parcel for him to check and dropped the call.
5 mins later, I called back and he told me the parcel was with them but I would have to pay customs charge of about 8k.

I was disturbed because there is no time I will call this number and request for my parcel that he will not mention customs charge.
I started shopping from aliexpress since 2018. Then, I bought a refurbished , Nokia N72 just to test the site. After 3 weeks, the phone arrived Nigeria and stated delivery failed. I contacted seller and said it's being cleared by custom.
This took over a week. So, that was the first time I got that post office number. I gave him tacking number and he checked it and said it's with them that I should pay 8k to so so account and give them my address for door delivery that the are currently undergoing upgrade and do not entertain customers in the office. The worst is that the account number didn't look like a corporate office account.

I ignored that. After a week, I got a call from the post office nearest to me to come pick up. I went there, there was no charge for the parcel. The post woman just asked for call airtime and I just gave her 200#

With this experience I got. I was worried how could my parcel be as Enugu post office for over a month without it even showing arrived.
After a week, I called back the same number to check the where about of my Redmi 8a and he said again it's with them but I would have to pay 6k (now, it has reduced) before they can deliver to my door that their office is currently under upgrade. Because I'm not leaving in Enugu town, I asked him if I could send my brother who is leaving there to come pick it up and then pay the customs charge. He insisted that the don't accept people in the office and if I want them to send the parcel to my brother, I would first pay the customs charge to their account so that delivery could be initiated.
I was cleared the guy was a scam. I never sent him anything and the item never came. I requested for refund from aliexpress and I got my money back. That's why I asked if trackable parcel can arrive without it stating on the tracking site. What then makes it trackable if so, because I know non-trackable items will not update after they leave country of origin.

I just feel the person at the post office was just being stubborn. Next time, when placing a call to them, record it. Then report the person to Servicom, then copy NIPOST and Customs. It would attract the Post Master General who would look into the issue critically and if he finds something fishy, trust me, heads would roll. I've done same thing in my area in Lagos sometime in 2018 and it worked wonders, cos I threatened to release the recordings which the PMG was anticipating, the persons in charge down to a PO manager kept calling to apologise. In the end, I didn't release the recording so they all only got queried.

And is it advisable I order now? I have some coupon worth #15,000 that will expire on the 15th of this month. What's your recommendation please and I really don't have any idea of the current exchange rate. Tried contacting @FBN but they have refused to answer me

Use Aboki FX android app to check exchange rate for ATM card. GTB rate is around 380 per dollar. Ur money is safe with AliExpress, either u get Ur money back after 60 days or u get Ur order.

If I may, ship from where to where? Some stores ship directly to 9ja while some are to US locations only. If to US only, you might need to contact your US recipient if delivery to 9ja is possible during this time.

You sure those coupons ain't store/select coupons? If they're, don't rejoice too much o cuz they're selectively valid except they're AliExpress coupons.

I'm shipping from the US. Someone wants to help me buy it, but he told me the goods would be with the US recipient pending the call off of the lockdown. The eBay seller is also from the US, I just want to know if he would be able to deliver it to the recipient considering the situation over there.
