Buhari couldn't stop. It took quite some effort to get the soldier in him to pull the brakes. Later, he will claim that he didn't know that he was already deep into Chad.

-We have a retired infantry man as sitting president.

-Nigeria claim to heavily fund the military and it's operations against boko haram.
-Nigerian military has been battling a band of renegades for close to 15 years
-Buhari once said "an attack against boko haram is an attack against the north"
-This government at its inception assured us that boko haram had been technically defeated.
- The response of our military to Derby's claim is a called "being economical with the truth".

With all these, boko haram still holds large swaths of territories in Nigeria and the Nigerian military cannot as of today end boko haram quickly.

Do you not see that as it is today there are a few people who massively benefit from the existence of boko haram in Nigeria? Do you not clearly see that Nigeria is not seriously tackling the insurgency? Do you not see that with the way it is boko haram has come to stay here?

Even if Idris Derby played to the gallery he showed that with good leadership and seriousness boko haram can be wiped away in a matter of days. Shekau has mastered the art of threat and destruction to the Nigerian government. Our government replies by begging, paying ransom and releasing confirmed boko haram members. Did you not see shekau consoling his people over their loss. If it were Nigeria he would seize women, children and even soldiers and get some ransom. Without doubt once again there are powerful people in the north who make money from boko haram.

Let's not be deceived, Idris Derby did the right thing. We must congratulate him.

Lol, you didn't make any sense just like those claiming 5g caused Corona virus. Simply put Nigeria is an exceptionally corrupt nation with unpatriotic citizens so they cannot defend their country while the chadians are less corrupt and more patriotic so they are always going to cause Boko Haram problems while the average Nigerian soldier who feels cheated everyday would not do his best in battle. History is littered with examples. Read up about the fall of the roman empire. Soldiers don't fight well for corrupt regimes but give up their lives for good ones, America and Britain are examples circa 1939 to1945.Operation Barbarossa was repelled by the Russians at great cost because of their love for their motherland.
