Please give a detailed solution to this....
Linearize the first equation, then plot the new equation and equation 2 on an x-y plane, you would be fine, the values of x and y would be seen from the graph at their point of intersection.
Thanks

Please help with this trigonometry.
Use sum formula for tangent and the fact that tan 45° = 1.
Sum formula for tangent:
tan (A + B) = (tan A + tan B)/(1 – (tan A)(tan B))

Substitute, expand, and solve, you will get tan² θ = 1/3. The solutions of this equation are 30°, 210°, 150°, and 330°.

From the rule of surds
Sqr(ab) = sqr(a) × sqr(b)
sqr(1225) = sqr(100 × 12.25) = sqr(100) × sqr(12.25)
= 10 × 3.5
=35
hence sqr(1225) = 35

well if you can be able to pay for your own internet subscription, house rent and other utility bills he might be interested, otherwise you would be chasing a lost cause.

Below is an example of the mathematics tricks I talked about. You stand a chance of having point more than your equals in exams and quizzes. Let's solve this question.
Note: this only work for multiple choice questions.
This question is a question from topic surds. Let's say in the exam hall you were stuck up on what to do to this question, or probably you are not stuck but you have few seconds which you know won't be enough for this question. Here's a way out.
Let's go.
Just think of options you will insert into x that will make both sides L.H.S = R.H.S , any option that make left hand side equal to right hand side is the answer.
Let's solve this:
(a) insert (2) from option into x, the answer will be √5 , but √5 is not 3, so right is not equal to left. So (a) is not correct
(b) insert 3 into x we have. √7 = 3, √7 is not equal to 3, so (b) is not correct.
(c) insert 4 into x in L.H.S will be √9, waooooo, √9 is 3 , Yesssssssssssss correct.

Students on this platform, there are several of this easy and caste means if solving math questions which are in bunches for you. If you want to benefit from this opportunity and take your grade to the next level, you will just comment here. There are about 20 math topics you can solve with this and different means if you are stuck in exam hall.
Videos is the best means of teaching because what one sees stays in memory than read. If you want me to do videos of all this logics and tricks, just tell me. Share is with friends. Don't be selfish.
Thanks.

Why trick it ?
This is the numerical solution

√(1+2x)=3
Square both sides
1+2x=9
2x=8
X=4
Re: Nairaland Mathematics Clinic by Tohsynetita1: 8:29am On Apr 13, 2020
I don't say it's no a numerical solution, read what I posted. There are circumstances that may warrant you not to finish, it's because this is few steps if it's like 30 steps, or you made mistake along the process, you will appreciate what I posted.

Using the definition of the limit, limx→a f(x), we can derive many general laws of limits, that help us to calculate limits quickly and easily.
