Hello car gurus, my brother bashed his Honda babyboy with another vehicle and the airbags deployed (steering wheel & front passenger side). So he then called me asking me how much would replace the deployed airbags.
Pls someone help us with a rough estimate to do the job..pls o

Hold like 50k minimum to get a working SRS system. But if it's just to replace only the airbag cover, anything from 25-30k

It's a very risky and highly sensitive task to undertake and it's also expensive to perform. For instance, to fix an airbag in this Honda, a minimum of 50k may not even do everything.

I dont mess around it,heard it could deploy without even an impact if one touches wrong wires or sensors. At least it could be fixed in Nigeria,that puts my mind at rest now.

And it does not just end there. Any car involved in an accident with airbag deployed, will have crashed data stored in the module. You either buy a new airbag module, buy a used unit that has no crash data or clear the crash data in your current unit. Even high end diagnostic tools does not clear crash, it can be reprogrammed on bench or using specialized tools.


To answer your question about price. Budget between 80 to 100k, and not some botched job done. I know, I know, you are asking how much is the car. It will interest you to know that the new airbag module is costlier than the vehicle. The cheapest means is clearing the carsh data in yours, and replacing all deployed units with used units.


Sadly here in naija, most people do not care about airbag MIL's, nor their own safety. It is a terrible thing to drive a car with the airbag lights on.

Please for Honda baby boy , what gear oil is recommended? My gear move from gear 1 to 2 between 1 to 2 rpm but lately, it's getting to 3rpm before switching from gear 1 to 2 , it's auto

Car was fixed to highest standard possible., airbags replaces , sensors replaced, seat belt replaced, srs module was wiped and reprogrammed.,
The bill was quite heavy but I had insurmace .
Everything works now .
