Our current federal minister of health is a fellow of the West African college of surgeons, and has a lot of qualifications and degrees in medicine. In addition he got his basic medical degree in a German hospital. He was a surgeon at tertiary level hospitals in Nigeria and Germany for many years.

The Minister of State for health is also by training a medical doctor.

And the reason why things are the way they are is that covid 19 is a new illness. Even developed countries like the US, UK and Italy, where the leaders are not certificate holders, are struggling very well with the illness.

governance is a synergy of expertise and efforts,
we wouldn't be where we are if the interior had taken to advise from health on border closure.

the man is now slaving on matters that could av been avoided

Good one. I must commend this. He should adopt his own strategy and forget the analog style Aso Rock is using cos if Lagos explodes Aso Rock won't save him. He shouldn't mind those here in Abuja. He should be creative and adopt best methods that can work for Lagos. Hunger and frustration can't live inside one body for too long.

I am impressed. Highly proactive goverment and impactful leadership you just wished was reciprocated at the centre.

Hitting all the key issues and bringing ALL resources to bear in this pandemic war and not just leaving the outcome to a single committee and a single institution.

Like I said this morning and watching Skynews on the process in the UK, it is clear that to make advances against Covid 19 the battle has to be 'grass rooted' in all capability meaning testing, tracking and identification and with time isolation and treatment.

We need to get our extension workers who do a fantastic job every year with polio vaccination to bring their capabilities into play.

We need to get the capabilities of all medical facilities both private and public up to speed so that we can speedily decentralise Covid treatment and grass root it eventually.

All these so that we locationally isolate hotspots and begin to open up other non affected places to normal economic activities. It will be near impossible to do so with the centralised system of testing, identification and treatment we practice presently.

We will be locked down perpetually the way we are presently set up. The Federal goverment needs to up its game and come up with a strategy to end this pandemic. We cannot afford this defensive, waiting game.

Sanwo-Olu also addressed the security challenges threatening the distribution of food products in the state and assured the members of the Organised Private Sector (OPS) that “from today (Wednesday) there will be additional deployment/presence and patrol (24/7) of mobile policemen, the military and paramilitary personnel in Lagos State.

This is upsetting!

It appears the only solution we have for treating security challenge is the deployment of guns.

Are there no other means to tackle security issues in our urban society?

Agreed. Lagos should lead the way in fashioning survival strategies by working with all stake holders not sitting down in virtual dictatorship when the capacity is not there.

Lagos knows the importance of its economy in the matrix of social stability and will seek to fast track the Covid battle by bringing capacity on board.

Just listening to CNN right now. The idea of bringing census capacity to contact trace. Which to me is reasonable. Any institution that can help should help. It is not a one institution battle at all.

The terrorist religionists are beginning their starvation month. May they catch Coro and may Coro take them away so the world can be free of terror.

Anyone notice they locked down their threads so no contrary views can be expressed? Why Seun Osewa and NL would allow this undemocratic practice which is hallmark of the Saudi terrorist religionists is appallingly denigrating.

Are you an okada/Marwa rider? Imagine people are concerned about something more critical at the moment and the way he was trying to solve issues to limit the spread of covid-19.He has done a absolute good job so far among his fellow governor yet you attacked him because of okada issue' the onus is on you.
