Hello Everyone, i hope you are doing safe!

Despite the devastating nature of the Chinese Virus, i believe we have a great opportunity to grow as a country. Please, allow me to break it down below:

1- The federal government planned to disburse billions of Naira to the poorest Nigerians and that is where i feel the federal government missed the mark. Any relieve should be given to TAX PAYING NIGERIANS that are within a defined income bracket.
The FIRS (Federal inland revenue service) can directly send the Chinese Virus Relief funds to the Tax paying Nigerians using the information on their 2019 Taxes. That way, you are encouraging people that never paid taxes to reconsider and rewarding Nigerians that have paid taxes as necessary to the Country.
I visited the FIRS website and there is nothing about the Chinese Virus. Its like, it never happened!!

2- There should be a food disbursement Center in states under lock down. A prepackaged food item should be made ready, appropriately labelled and disbursed in an orderly fashion. Social distancing should be enforced and anyone that receives items will be marked with a permanent marker on their left thumb.

3. There are news of Black Africans being mistreated in China even though the chinese virus came from the chinese people but we are made to bear the stigma. Nigeria, this is a time for you to take a strong stand and protect your citizen. Ship Aide and supplies to Nigerians in China and give them a one way ticket back. If we can allow chinese doctors to come here, Why can't we rescue our own citizens?

Hahaha, I see what you did their with the Chinese virus. Good suggestions though, but for that of tax paying Nigerians from FIRS, you know a greater number of Nigerians pay a lot of levies that would most likely not end up on FIRS books. So this category of people would probably be excluded from the relief fund.

Your points are made base in theories bro, not practical examples.

1st. Paying relief financial benefit to only tax payers using the FIRS data base is wrong, very wrong. I say this because the FIRS data base isn't trustworthy.

There are countless people who pay tax whose tax don't get to the coffers of the Federal government. This is also so with the state government.

Take Lagos state for example and how much private transporters generate on the daily. Are you gonna tell me those Danfo drivers and yellow/red cab operators don't pay tax?

2nd. Putting foods in a whare house and placing it under guard will do no one any good because those who are suppose to benefit from it, won't.

It's the same we've been seeing allover social media. How this relief packages that comprises of 4 dedica of rice and two packs of Indomie noodles are given to a whole commit to share. Like WTF.

Lastly, Nigeria doesn't have a competent data base. We don't even know how many we are. I'm sure even the FIRS won't be able to tell you how many Nigerians pay tax.

The system is made so by our politicians because it encourages them to steal more because there's no proper record.

This is the sh1t we find ourselves in. My only take is we should wake up and know our enemy and make them accountable. Every penny of this relief fund and food materials will only benefit the political elite.

I don't really understand their aim for the castigations against successful guys on that thread..

We are wasting opportunity to divest and separate the country into independent regions in a truly federated structure.

Times like this when the center is vulnerable and weak is when regional advocates should apply pressure and crumble the center.
