Her husband was rich, had many cars and houses, plots of undeveloped land etc. The man's two previous wives left and she married the widow in question. She has only one child for the dead husband. The man's family members sold all cars, houses... They said they can only give the widow whatever they deem necessary. But the widow is not even getting the feeding money they promised her. They have asked her to leave the building in which she was living with her husband until the time of the man's death. The woman has a shop within the house where she sells food items to students because a school is beside the house and that's her source of income. She also rears poultry birds at the backyard.

Husband's family members said they want to sell the house and asked the widow to leave. Please, how can she be helped?

I know everything about the woman but she's not my family member or acquittance. So, I don't want her to know the person that brought this to nairaland. Let her get in touch with the Nigerian Human Rights Commission, let her start out with a phone call on Monday they will direct her steps as it is way better than feeling totally helpless.

OP, I think there is a mix up in your write up. The late husband was never a widower when he was alive because his previous 2 wives didn't die but left him.

According to the poster, all the wives were not married legally but traditionally; Muslim rites. They should be able to help to an extent.
I doubt the poster has done anything about it since the pandemic has crippled all activities.

It does not matter whether they were formally married in court or not. Was she his dependent? Did they live together as man and wife? And even if they claim it’s their culture, as long as it’s repulsive the law won’t support it.

The man's previous 2 wives were never subjected to any legal marriage or ceremony whatsoever. The dead husband only did formal introduction ceremony for the widow in question. There are only photos of the ceremony
