check my initial post.

I said people should compare iPhone with iPhone.. it makes no sense to compare iPhone with Android in the sense of value. which is what most people tend to do.

iPhone targeted demography don't do value, but "premium".
And premium is mostly about people's thoughts and attitude towards a brand.

Just like plastic phone by supreme running symbian os will cost 2000usd but Nokia with same spec and everything will cost 10 dollars or less.

And cos something is premium doesn't necessarily mean it's bad or the best which is the mistake most people make when they compare these things..

Alright boss. I think I understand your yardstick better now and i get your points too
I don’t know if you also understand mine.

Mine is more from the point of view of the currency(Won’t look this expensive if not for the weakness of our Naira) , long term support and relevance (up to 5 years) and the top class performance of the phone(Same processor in the $1099 iPhone Pro Max). The other specs are also really good down to the Wireless charging, excellent camera, plenty LTE bands and WiFi 6. Etc etc In that compact small size which still has a market.

I hope you understand my point of view too.

the Kirin chipset was what made me get the phone to know how it will feel when using it heavily because I am a gamer coupled with the camera

Yeah Huawei makes really neat phones.

Yeah the Snapdragon 865 is really fast and so is the A13. That’s why I used “one of the most powerful phones”. The Android vs iOS thing is not what I like to do at all.

Yes I understand your points. I’m not saying it’s better than any Android or has more value than any android. Check my post again.
What I’m saying is for $399 the SE has value. Look at all the specs again. The performance, camera, WiFi 6, LTE bands support,
A lot of people are talking about the phone like it’s crap and like it’s a dead phone. The only problem is the old over used design and I tell you plenty people don’t care. Apple knows it’s market very well. I dunno if you get me.
And we both know Android support isn’t as good as Apple. Essential is just one outlier out of many.
What people here don't know is that apple fans particularly asked for this design to cut down cost and it's a win win for everybody, now you have 11pro specs in a iphone 8 body with IP 68 and a badass camera.
Most people like me even prefer that touch id and bezel to the face id notch display.

I'll choose Google pixel 3a or Huawei P30 over this phone.
But some people will buy since it's an iPhone.

I'm patiently waiting for Google Pixel 4a

A myopic person like you would think that, in the space of 3months I've used every iphone from xs max to 11pro max.
Now let me school you, many of us are not really a fan of face id and notch display, the phone has a processor that is faster any other processor on earth and a performance sheet of 11pro max with a top notch camera embedded in an iphone 8 body what more is its even 3times cheaper than the top tier apple models, things like this wows people like me that are interested in performance.

It is a perfect for a lot of people who want compact phones with the 11 Pro performance for that price.

I have totally agreed with you on the currency thing now.

400dollars is chicken change to Westerners.. but our weak ass currency has made it look like a lot of money.

It will take someone earning minimum wage in us or uk 1 week or 40hrs of job to buy iPhone SE but in Nigeria it will take him 6months to afford same thing.

And I get the long term support thing ofcos.. apple has complete say and control over their device so they can support it for as long as they want or slow it down and force you to buy a new one.

Android is different market. Even Google doesn't have complete say over what what manufacturers do with Android

Even the S8 from 2017 is still a beautiful phone.
No one uses the 3 button navigation anymore.
The Android vs iOS thing is dead. Drop it

More than 6 months because we know our vendors here will definitely add shipping, customs and miscellaneous grin.
Yeah different markets. That is why comparing can be somehow like you said earlier on.

You should understand the reason behind this phone. This is not a flagship iPhone. They only made this phone to target the mid-range market. That is: people who cannot afford to buy iPhone 11 Pro Max or people who don’t like the big size or heavy specs on Apple’s flagship phones. It’s just a mid-range phone for people who want something simple and not all about the tech and specs. A new flagship iPhone (iPhone 12) will be released in September. This iPhone SE is a budget phone targeting a specific market. My mum would prefer a phone like this over iPhone 11 Pro Max, for instance.

I believe you didn't get it. IPhones, Samsung phones that are being made in China are still produced by the companies that own the brands not Chinese companies. It's called outsourcing, mainly cheap labour and other areas just to reduce the production cost.
So, the guy's statement still stands
Do you understand what's called production costs, most flagship phones from Samsung, Huawei,lg, sony has higher production cost to iPhones,

Always compare iPhone with iPhone. iPhone got nothing on Android when it comes to value.
