When we first had just over a hundred cases i mentioned here that nigeria already had over a thousand cases already. Most folks here were insulting me,one even asked if it was my family members. Truth is nigeria wasn't conducting enough tests then. Well no need to panic, expect more numbers in the coming days people. At least Abba Kyari burial attendes are surely gonna contribute to that number. What a joke of a country. Baba God i dont know why u post me come this country wen i was born o. Dubia been dey o!! Canada sef dey!!!

You should have been a US citizen, where over 40,000 people have died and in some states, the blacks are over represented in the number of people that died. Be careful what you wish for.

As expected.

Test more people, get more confirmed cases.

The numbers will rise to it's peak then gradually fall.

Statistics still shows that we are very far behind in testing when compared to other smaller African countries, and this is hella worrisome.

You see my problem in this country is even the news casters, those ones that claim to be educated will coviniently pronounce the figures.
Now every evening you inform us about those that has been discharged... At night you'll give us another figures of those tested positive..
So all those SAN, celebrities, politicians, professors in Nigeria can't question FG about real numbers of those infected..
Substract those discharged from 627
That is 470 - those that died 21
That 436
Total: 436
That is why they keep fooling us, we won't ask questions, we'll just sit there, permit me to say 90 percent of our so called celeb are just too dull.walai I dey boil...

Madam calm down, the data supplied is not complete. Active cases, people currently on admission in the isolation centre is the balance number. The way Lagos state presents the data is better.

China didn't give Nigeria the virus, just like many other countries. Na people come China come carry the distribute.

The whole world must unit against China on this but the beggarly attitude of African leaders towards China won't give them (African leaders) the boldness to be part of such move.

I think the government didn't give people enough time to prepare for the lock down. If the lock down is not relaxed for people to stock up food and essential that can last a long time, anarchy will ensures and it will be chaotic.
ADVICE TO THE FG:
1. Release enough grains from the reserve to support the food in warehouses.
2. Do honest transfer of cash to people in need based on family size(hoping we will all be truthful)
3. Lock down the whole country for 21 days and deploy military services to mount road block.
4. All of us should comply by staying home .
By doing all these, we will be able to separate those infected from those that are not, thereby not collapsing our fragile health system. If we failed to do all these, NEW YORK will be a child's play. I pray God give us a real help and save our land.

but why are not dying?
Why don't we see them cough up and down?
This is not just about test.
Coronavirus disease is not what you can hide once it gets to advance stage.
At that point you don't even need to test unless for routine sake.
If these are old cases, people should be dropping dead in their houses by now in Lagos because it's already over 3 weeks Lagos went on lockdown

What make Lagos more vulnerable, especially around the main land will be largely due to exposure to a very bad environmental hygiene. And this makes Lagos a fertile ground for the disease rapid spread....those of us in Lagos knows what am talking about...Lagos is dirty! Any serious Gov't that would win de Corona virus war in a short time in dat lagos would have to see a need for an intense environmental fumigation. They should begin to think in dat direction now. As a matter of fact lagos as a city need to be treated first, then follows by other measures...I AM TALKING TO LAGOS STATE ENVIRONMENTAL AND HEALTH COMMISSIONER.

Since these Chinese people were imported to Nigeria to come and take over from our Doctors,
the figure has been increasing by geometric progression.

We warned this government against this move but they overruled the whole country.
Now look at what we are facing. Are we not worse of now that these Chinese people came in?

The world is distancing themselves from China but the useless government is the one chartering a flight to import them here.
Those who brought this calamity as government, I pray to God to reward only them with what they have brought to us;

Please, don't try to marry someone who think just like you cos that was the same mistake your parent did. Your thoughts are so annoying

Just because it's a global format doesn't make it right. It's still very silly. Include the active cases when giving us the breakdown.

Are the active cases supposed to make you feel any better? Declaring the confirmed cases should be paramount, then recoveries thereafter.

But, is that not a redundant question; since you can arrive at the answer, just like did with the information given?

If I give mall an N1,000 note and bought N700 Suya, it is necessary to tell him that my change is N300? Both of us already know the obvious from the given data.

No, it is not very silly and it is just right - it is not rocket science and you can easily do the subtraction to get the number of active cases. NCDC may have decided against adding the active cases because it will make the infographic look too crowded, better to keep it simple.

Additionally, it is more important to report confirmed cases. A lot of people in the international community also monitor our figures and should be able to capture how many confirmed cases we have, our recovery rates and number of fatalities at first glance.

I am just like you, I don't get what the noise is all about too. If she wants to see the number of active cases, she can carry out simple subtraction.

I kept seeing the comments about NCDC not displaying the number of active cases and I just want to scream and ask them if that is our utmost problem now. Very basic mathematics, yet we will still find a reason to complain.

Look at the number of tests we've done and look at the number of cases we've accumulated. It shows that the cases are a whole lot higher than what we can imagine.
