Thanks for your response, I was really surprised when I listened to the sound recording, hubby understands tho, I hope it stops after giving birth

Aww, Thank you so much CAPO and how are you? cheesy

Aside the occasional pelvic pain, tightness, heavy stomach and discomfort sleeping on the side, I'm strong, baby is kicking and moving fine and bags are packed already.

I still go for my daily walks and attend to house chores with my DH's help.
What I don't understand is my new crave/love for bread and tea, its almost a daily!

In all, grateful for the journey so far and can't wait to hold my lo.
Congratulations to all who have put to birth, may God preserve your babies.
Sound health and safe delivery to all yet to deliver, we shall testify in Jesus name.

I would suggest you repeat the test in two weeks
I experienced same mine i even bled for days but wasn't flowing much like a real menstruation so I use the urine strip and it was negative, until when I started feeling very weak about two weeks later so I had to go to the hospital, lo and behold I was already 8 weeks gone.

My Birth Story...

So I'm not sure how my application to be enlisted as an April mama was missed, even though I did apply early, but I thought to leave it be, because I realized I would not always be here to respond to roll calls, which really would not be fair...

Pregnancy was a joyride. Maybe not so much as my first, but again, I may have been overexcited then to not have noticed certain downers. I experienced no morning sickness as before...Also, as against my first, my feet did not get swollen - probably because I did not do pregnacare like one mama here also testified.

Anyway, as I originally requested of God, before the lockdown that would later prevent my mama from coming for omugwo, I went into labour at 39weeks + 3 days. The menstrual-like pains, as opposed to the kind of contractions I experienced for my first that were visibly making my stomach muscles vibrate, started in the wee hours of April 20th morning.

If I didn't know about timing contractions, I probably would have been really confused as to what was going on. I just thought to time the space between the crampings. They started out to be 5/6 minutes apart and after a while, they were just all over the place, leaving me to look out for the show at least, before heading to the hospital. In between, I was sleeping but waking up to more intense cramps. Plus that legendary breathing technique for labour kind of helped. It takes your attention off the pain and channels it to the breathing.

At around 6am, I was no longer finding the cramps funny, knew it was definitely labour pains and went to take a bath, started to brush my teeth, got irritated midway and stopped. I went to wake DH up and that was where the irritation manifested and I threw up. DH jolted out of bed and went to bring my bag and whatever it was he was running around the house to gather and he drove us to the hospital.

We arrived at the hospital and everything seemed to happen quickly. I was given a pelvic exam by a nurse who said I was 6cm dilated, before a doctor arrived to ask for a late scan report. The only scan I did during ANC was on the day I registered. I was exactly 26 weeks. My ANC doc did not request for another but at my 34th week, he had examined my bump and said that the baby was still in breech. So it was kind of crucial to know the baby's weight and position at that point. Waited and waited in crayzy pains for the scan techies to come and wheel me off...no show. Bloody show too refused to appear, but the pains continued to intensify.

The matron who seemed to be in charge of delivery eventually came to ask for what's keeping me and the doctor told her. Then as if on cue, the nurse who examined me, decided to have mercy abi show expertise by chipping in the fact that she felt the crown or whatever and that baby was not in breech position and that we may go ahead without an ultrasound report.

So I got wheeled up, laid on a bed, was given an injection, I suspect it sped things along...got transferred into another unit within an hour again, a drip was set up and fixed to my canula, membrane was ruptured by the nurse and I was asked to push when I felt like taking a shite....I can't possibly describe the fire I was feeling all through this, as I felt I was being rushed, but at the same time, I wanted everything over with. So while on the bed, I pleaded with the nurse that I would not want an episiotomy if possible and she assured me that it's my right to ask for what I wanted and she would try not to give me one, but that I should be aware that it could be necessary, given the fact that we were going in blindly without a late scan report.

So like my first birthing experience again, it got to the pushing part where every woman in labour wishes to be right from the onset of labour, and again I could not push. I would oooh and aaahhh, but the nurses would say that I wasn't doing anything. At a point, the matron asked me not to push at the beginning of a contraction, but to count to three after it starts...Even did that, but she said it's my body that's bringing out baby without my conscious effort, but that the baby seemed to be big too, cos she could see the head and it was not descending as she expected. Whether or not it was a ploy to change my mind, I was ready to get past that point and so I asked her to do what was necessary. I never talk finish, she carried the special episiotomy scissors and with the next contraction, she gave me the cut. With one more contraction though, the baby seemed to slide out of me and hmnnnnnnn, I still haven't forgotten the kind of relief I became awash with.

Baby again, did not jump out crying like I see in movies, but it took like 5 seconds of immediate rigorous back rubbing to hear that scream. Baby Nathan is a handsome gee that weighed 3.5kg at birth. Local anaesthesia was administered twice for my stitching, misoprostol was administered anally to arrest bleeding and I can honestly tell you that the experience wasn't nearly as bad as I had feared all my life. Even right now, I feel okay. I'm not planning to take a look down there anytime soon though.

Here's wishing everyone who is still waddling, easier journeys and deliveries.

You know its somehow to prescribe medication for a pregnant woman. Even Doctors are usually very careful.

I suggest you just take the normal catarrh drugs like procold first if it is safe for use in pregnancy.
If there are no improvements, then you may need to consult your doctor.

As for the headache...me I constantly have headaches so I take paracetamol and rest well.

Get well soon.

You can take paracetamol for the headache. Grate some ginger and boil with moderate water then sieve, add honey and drink. You can do this 2 times daily.

Thank you so much ma for your detailed response.
We used formula for few days and stopped when breast started flowing.

bimberry1307:

Congratulations mama. God is faithful.
Lactating wahala you can try some of these.

1. Hand-express breast milk regularly, even if you only get a few drops out at first. The more you express, the more likely your supply will increase.

2. Make sure your baby is latched on the breast properly and is actually feeding.

3 Massage your breasts during feeding to stimulate the let down of milk.

4. Make sure you offer your baby both breasts at each feeding. Using only one breast can cause a lack of milk production in the unused one.

5. Make sure you have lots of skin-to-skin contact with your baby as this can stimulate milk production.
Hold off on giving your baby a pacifier until your milk supply is well established.

All in all, get a baby formula for the main time so that your baby can eat. Make sure to take lots of pap and water.

Cheers
