Nigeria can, measures should be taken to treat these problems... if they cancel this lockdown under a situation like this then it is finished.

which measures have been taken so far
this lockdown is a ticking time bomb for many
if its only me, i dont have issues with it
you cant keep people hungry for 2 months
either way people will still die

Extension of this lock down beyond what we currently have will not mean well for Nigeria and Nigerians anymore. The way forward is strict enforcement of face mask, social distancing and hand sanitising. Further closure of land and air borders. Identification of proper face mask that can be effective against SARS-COV2 because many people are now wearing all sorts of hand made face mask that might not have been tested to work against covid-19 transmission. Discouragement of unnecessary social gathering. taking air samples of public places for lab test to identify whether there's presence sars-cov2 in it and other measures that might be appropriate.

Guy no talk too much. All these people no sabi anything, if they cancel lockdown now and this thing increase na still dem na go Dey complain.
Vloml222:

The US has tested over 4 million persons. Still their health experts have said until the US have enough testing capabilities to test everyone the economy shouldn't be opened.

Our government is fighting this the wrong way. Either ways, the economy suffers. Lift the lockdown now and we will see the resurgence and massive increase of confirmed cases and because of our poor testing ability, more persons will get infected really fast and same economy you're trying to protect now will suffer more then.

Let's not even forget the current struggle with falling oil prices. If we survive this we have bigger issues to worry about.

My take is, this lockdown should stay until we are sure we can test more persons.

U are incredibly dumb, First of all malaria is deadlier but it has a cure and very cheap. Nigeria health sector is very bad and won’t be able to accommodate the numerous sick people if this stuff should get out of control, with the high rate of illiterates how many will be able to use a face mask correctly or wash hands regularly, with how congested Lagos is do u have any idea how easy and quick the virus will spread, then with little number of ventilators and high number is sick people, doctors will start making decisions on who to die or who not to die, even people who should have survived will die because of poor medical conditions. Make una use una head na. This is a decision between food and death. My own advice is that govt should provide means where people will be able to get food easily in times like this and the lock down should not be lifted till will start getting good results.
lebienconnu:
Practically, there is no effective lockdown at all anywhere in Nigeria presently. The aim of lockdown is to curtail community transmission which has been ongoing even before coronavirus was christened covid-19.

If we had a working death registry in Nigeria before the disease gained media prominence we would have easily realised that its effect is negligible. 28 deaths from covid-19 complications over a month. Someone should please publish the number of deaths from severe malaria nationwide over the last two weeks.

End lockdown. Make face mask compulsory and encourage people to wash thier hands frequently. Life goes on.

i think the deaths need to get to a number that will force nigerians to have common sense
Buhari should lift the lockdown and let people die by choice. By the time you bury your parents and children nobody will tell u before u enter house and lock door

What number??! Oh Please... Will it get to the number taken by Boko Haram and Herdsmen alone??! Will it ever match the fatalities from malaria on a yearly basis??!...

You talk about locking yourself inside the house because you have what it takes to do so... Not everyone is that fortunate!!! Do you know what it means to stay indoors without a dime or grain to feed even one's kids??! Can children also go hungry for weeks on end??!...

This is Nigeria and if the lockdown is lifted in Lagos under 2 weeks with infected people walking in the street of Lagos New York may be learning work under lagos when the outbreak happens and it can be the worst the world has ever seen . Lagos have some areas where 6 people live in a room if one get the virus it’s spread to the 6 and the whole house and street . And many places what I can just say is u have enough stay at home and stay safe when there’s life there’s hope and people that don’t have enough go out and look for what u want but even if the governemt lift the ban I know people who cherish living will stay at home .

in 6weeks none has died from hunger so far. rather the lockdown is helping to keep infections low. most of the new infections are spread by stubborn people that refused to adhere to instructions. so evidence doesnt support your argument

a man dropped dead here in Delta while trying to buy food in the market.

you said none, because no one is giving stats about hunger here in Nigeria.

report says 5 million people die in Africa every year due to hunger....... about 12 every minutes which may have increase due to covid19.

also security agencies in Nigeria have killed more people than covid19

There’s a solution to hunger, govt can work on it easily, what do u think will be the solution if the lock down is canceled and the number of infected cases increases, tell me.

This is exactly what I told somebody this morning. When the situation gets out of hand in Italy and Ecuador, no one tell them to stay at home and stay safe.

How will someone staying in a room with 4 people isolate when seeing symptoms . Us is taking measures and if this shit outbreak in Nigeria and Lagos expecially u and ur types will be a he first to blame Govt why not lockdown because even the whole hospitals will reject any sick patient even if is not covid 19 and the choice is urs . Food or death choose wisely

If man can survive war with little food, why can't we just do the same now and battle the chain of Covid-19? I hope people won't learn in a harder way.

To those quoting me:
It is now many are fond in the habit of eating heavily while doing less with limited or no income instead of sitting down with family and plan on whatever is available, manage or ration it... This is better than the situation that you will see food and you won't be able to eat it when the foods feel like paper in your mouth. I v bn thru a lot, I know what I m saying.

If not for the lockdown, this virus would have been working freely in our communities by now

You don't worth being quoted anymore. I'm off your bias.

The Lockdown is not helping
The motuterfuckers that are supporting this lockdown shit has enough food on their fucking home
People are dying of hunger
Robbery and other related crimes are increasing
Theres a Popular Robbery activities ongoing in Lagos by some group called 'One Million Boys' as a result of this shit. There are some other ones.
If the Govt cant help its people in this Lockdown they just should lift it. And ensure people wear nose masks and take preventive measures.
Am waiting for any dumb motherfucker that will oppose me on this
