Buhari Flees As Governors Take Over His Duties - Deji Adeyanju by AuthenticNG: 1:43pm On Apr 23, 2020

Deji Adeyanju, Convener of Concerned Nigerians has put it very clear that Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari has fled from his Responsibilities as Governors are now in charge of his duties.

He went further to ask where is Our president and Vice President...

Deji Adeyanju was reacting to call by the Nigerian Governors Forum, NGF, on a nationwide lockdown amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

Convener of the group, Deji Adeyanju said the 36 governors agreed to a nationwide lockdown because President Muhammadu Buhari has “absconded from his duties and responsibilities.”

Recall that NGF had yesterday demanded for a two weeks interstate lockdown in a bid to tackle the spread of COVID-19 in Nigeria.

NGF made the call in a communiqué issued after its Wednesday’s 6th teleconference meeting.

In the communiqué signed by its Chairman and Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, the forum said the call was necessary following confirmed cases of coronavirus in over 26 states.

However, Adeyanju in a statement said: “Currently, there is a leadership vacuum in Nigeria and it’s so sad that it’s the Governors who are now rising to the occasion.

“The 36 state governors just agreed on a nationwide lockdown of the country since the Commander-in-Chief has absconded from his duties and responsibilities.

“Under our laws, the governors cannot lockdown the country but when the president is missing in action during a pandemic, then we must all commend the decisive actions of the governors no matter how unconstitutional the act may be.

Is Deji Adeyanju just waking up to reality?
Buhari did not flee. He has never been there in the first place.
You can't flee from a place you never were. He was not on duty before coronavirus, he is not on duty now, and he will still not be on duty after coronavirus. He just looks at cartoons in his house.
People are praying for 2020 to end cos it looks a bad year. Me I'm pray for 2023 to come quickly cos with Buhari in Aso Rock, 2021 and 2022 won't be any different.
I'm not being pessimistic; it' just fact

Deji Adeyanju has earned due respect as an activist but this assertion is mischievous and misleading.

The fact is that Nigeria is a federation and state governors are closer to the people. What Nigeria Governors Forum decided to do was NOT national lockdown by ursuping presidential power but to ensure that interstate movement is stopped for a period to control the spread of COVID-19. Even in US it was state governors who ordered state lockdowns and not Pres. Trump. As we speak, only Lagos, Abuja and Ogun States are under presidential lockdown. Other States are under lockdown as ordered by their governors who have the power to do so under vital law.

Instead of heating up the polity with unnecessary insinuations, Deji Adeyanju should use his activism to guide people on how to avoid COVID-19 infections in this perilous time. Pictures from Italy, UK, New York, etc show how dangerous it is to play politics with COVID-19.

All Buhari was elected or rather positioned to do is to just provide proof of life at intervals, and he's good to go

They are playing to the gallery to strengthen their brand as activists. The truth is activists like politicians don't let any opportunity to play the gallery pass them by.

This mumu activist should go and rest. If Buhari said he wants to lockdown the country for two weeks he'll be among those calling for buharis head. They should allow bubu be abeg. I'm not a Buhari supporter or admirer but these activist are getting too comfortable and are talking rubbish anyhow.

So why are they witch-hunting Wike for trying to do same in Rivers state?
Not only about the helicopter incident before you talk about aviation being under exclusive list, the Exxonmobil guys that came in from Akwa Ibom. Buhari exempted oil workers in Lagos, Ogun and FCT lockdown, did Wike exempt them in Rivers lockdown?
Why is Wike being witch-hunted?
