Haaaa, medicine after death. It pains me that we lost the opportunity to get it right. This is the most inept, inane government.

The citizens were screaming then.

This was the exact suggestion I raised against proposing self isolation in early February.

They already knew it won't work yet they told returnees from UK and eaurope to self isolate.

Now that the virus is spreading through communities, it shows we are in hot soup.

TheGoodJoe:
Which kind of madness is this? Self-quarantine?

We should have a Quarantine centre for all those coming in from China, and treat them as if they are infected through hydration until after 14days.

The ministry of health should not allow people take matters into their hands when it concerns this.

This was my comment January, 30, 2020.

You can see how much time we had to prepare and get things right but this incompetent government chose to play football with people's lives. In sane societies, no way the Minister of health and NCDC boss will keep their jobs after such gross incompetence.

Hakintoyey:
You got it bro.they should have closed the border immediately we detect the first case and all returnees to self isolate in hotels at their own cost and you monitor them. Take them to an hotel, take their sample, and if they are negative, release them, and isolate them if they are positive. Gaskia
No.

Covid-19 should have been treated as a war case. Returnees as potential infected ones. Airport workers fully kitted and take all returnees to designated hotels as isolation centres. Test when entering and test after two weeks.

The cost should have been on us. We can send N15 Billion now there is an outbreak but we were not ready to spend about N5 Billion to prevent and outbreak. Baffling.

It's really sad FG cannot control this shit yet they're planning to return more people. That means the lockdown is just fruitless.

Let's assume they truly want to return....... Who funds this isolation regime?

If FG is prepared to fund it 100%, who are the returnees to complain..........

Is any body feeling like they have president in this country.

Dubai flight to lift Nigerians on 26th is cancelled

Dubai is reopening today after almost a month lockdown

UAE with 9200 covid 19 cases are reopening today , risky !

Onyeama this is not a good enough excuse.

If you really want to bring Nigerians back to Nigeria, use technology wristbands in partnership with telecommunication firms to monitor their movements after drop-off at home and fine heavily for anyway in violation.

You can do it

Some people went for shopping and vacation before Covid-19 pandemic became serious

Now, they are due to return to their country but they cannot because there are no commerical flights available and airports are shut down

So, they want the government to bring them back home

On the other hand, no Nigerian who is based overseas wants to return because the government over there treat them better

One step forward, many steps backward, that is why we are where we are today.

Isolation centers not enough? But we said we were ready for covid-19
Re: COVID-19: FG Won’t Allow Self-Isolation For Returning Nigerians – Onyeama by Sososo(f): 8:08am On Apr 25, 2020
Of course. They should submit themselves to the rigours of supervised isolation and quarantine by qualified specialist

One question, when foreigners were leaving Nigeria, "they" said Nigeria is bad and our medical facilities are worst, in fact, our President is seen to be incompetent.

Now, we have a lot of Nigerians forcing themselves to come to Nigerians. It is that Nigerians in diaspora see/have different views about Nigeria or what?

Most of the Nigerians fighting to come home are big men that got stuck in UK and US, like former senator Shehu Sani, and they will want to self isolate at their home

Re: COVID-19: FG Won’t Allow Self-Isolation For Returning Nigerians – Onyeama by Amhappy(f): 12:40pm On Apr 25, 2020
So now no more self isolation. It is suddenly no more expensive after you have successfully spread the plague around. Many Nigerians including the senate warned you against self isolation in Feb but you refused. God will judge all of you who refused to do the right thing thereby endangering the life of Nigerians because of your selfish interest. People have been sent to their early graves leaving their families without shelter. Remember no man lives forever.

Many of you hear abroad and immediately start thinking of UK, US. Nigerians are in Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Cambodia, and when these countries put their society in lockdown, all the hustle shut down. A hustler in Cambodia that can't go out...and no palliatives....Nigeria becomes his heaven. This is some serious economic shyte bro when you count your money and it is not adding up at end of each hour, each day, each week.
Reality has struck the hustler
