The only thing you can't bring out is that no one ever collected a grown branch from any "indigene" (using word that flows with your mindset). Can you prove it?
Why is it that the ones planted and being managed by the "foreigners" (using word that flows with your mindset) are the big ones? Can you prove it?

God (life) rewards the diligent and never those who fold hands waiting for rewards!
Sitting like a lame duck and expecting who will hand over things is the beginning of misery.
it happens, a lot of churches are fond of that. All senior ministers in RCCG are yorubas, I will never attend that church.

I love GOFAMINT, no tribalism. You are rewarded according to your merit.

This also happens in RCCG, All Mega parishes in the east have Yoruba pastors while the smaller ones don't and also all state provinces are being headed by Yoruba.....but the Sheeple members will never notice this.
The answer is to go back to Universal Catholic,Anglican,Methodist Churches etc..and leave abracadabra, the more you look, the less you see churches for Yoruba people. But will they hear, you will rather remain there and continue to complain,na who send you go Yoruba church?

The first contributive answer so far. But pls, my advice is even if most of what you see or hear about this pastors is not okay with you, just do the right thing that your mind dictates but do not join mouth to judge or insult these pastors. Christ is the only perfect being that ever existed. I also don't like 3 things that happens in my church, but I made sure it doesn't keep me from doing the right thing. I also give my tithes and offering to the needy.
I read from the Bible in Deuteronomy 26 from verse 12 that tithe should be given to the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless and the widow. Why do pastors not state this in church

Oga, forget that thing. The only development a Yoruba man will bring to a place are Yoruba Pentecostal churches.

I attend Gospel Faith Ministry International, a Yoruba Pentecostal church and I love the church.
What is this one saying. I'm not talking about churches sef. I only go to church cos I get paid to attend a service. What I'm talking about is the properties Igbos stand to lose when we break up.

The same Bible the Catholic Church gave to the world.
Seek knowledge and stop living in a world of ignorance.
And why pick on Catholic when I mentioned over 3 Universal Churches?
You should have lived by your own words and leave the first Church of God to God instead of calling them evil,I know you prefer the ritualist churches in your region to Orthodox Churches.

Context

My old man is a pastor in RCCG. They threw him to one bush, a rented place. He bought two plots of land WITH HIS OWN MONEY from a failed pure water factor. The plot with the pure water factory building was refitted for the church.

Shortly after that, they started pestering him to hand over the title. A few weeks after he signed it over, they transfered him to another dump.

They put his junior in this new church and made the place area head quarters.

He almost left the church.

He bought another for this new church HIS OWN MONEY AGAIN. And started a massive building. My mom reminded him. So he bought another place and built a church the same size as the first church.

Again as soon as he signed it over... Transfer.

This time, he was sent to a big church. I don't go to his church. But from his conversations on the phone, niggas want his post.

That's redeem.

Another church 15-20 years ago. Similar story but less money sunk. He'd be sent to a dead branch. He'd grow the member base and next thing - transfer.

If the society is made up of bigots, churches will be filled with bigots.

Just remembered one Igbo dominated church, Assemblies of God church.

It wasn't any better than the Yoruba dominated churches.

Same scheming, back biting, theft of church funds, fake prophecies & deceit by both pastors and church members,...
Honestly, you have said nothing but the truth. I am a member of the second church you stated and I have seen it happen many times. My mum carries the church on her head . The one that pained me to my marrow was after returning from NYSC everyone did like they didn’t know me , I no even send until one Sunday when I entered church and saw one woman smiling and coming towards my direction after praying. As soon as I sat up, the woman passed me a piece of paper where an amount of money was written with my name on it. I asked her what the paper and money was for and she said it’s the amount shared amongst the youth of the church for one thing like that. My eye changed immediately, I asked her if she knew when I left the church and returned from NYSC and now they are billing me. Did anybody give me market to sell for them:.......Karamo

Thanks for the advice but the truth is i stopped Believing in religion a long time ago and i've never looked back....officially i might still say i'm a christian but the only thing i Believe in is in the existence of THE ONE TRUE GOD and that God doesn't have a religion because if you look at things critically God isn't the problem , the problem is religion .

Have u attempted Killing a child that u had to make that silly statement.
As for ur succeeding pastors, its so glaring n obvious that tribalism has eaten deep into some of the churches. I was at rccg camp one August for convention,if any other dialect song is raised the crowd around me never clap/dance but if it's Yoruba song they wld clap/dance,i was shocked. Now, a lot of Pastors overstayed at a mega parish while the minor tribes are transfered..a particular parish in south south had a rivers man but as d parish boomed as a result of high influx of oil workers a Yoruba man was sent there for long.
Even when undergraduates apply for d church scholarship, u wil never see another tribe names as beneficiaries,as my elder brothers choir asst. Stopped being a worker as she witnessed it frm yr1 to final yr
Lol.

The same claim can be made of Catholic churches in the east. They hardly ever sing hymns or songs that isn't either English or Igbo.

You will never hear them sing in Yoruba or Hausa.

Which isn't what obtains in parishes in Yorubaland.

Catholic parishes in Yorubaland sing hymns and other songs in most Nigerian languages. Not in the east.

There was a time in Washington DC, the parish priest allocated to us Nigerians was from Ibadan Archdiocese and he was meant to cater for the spiritual needs of Nigerians in that area.

After a few months, the Igbo Catholics in the community started pressing hard that they wanted the Mass to be said in Igbo language, despite the fact that they weren't even the majority of Nigerians attending Mass there.

Long story short, the top Church officials in DC had to wade in when the Igbo Catholics started their own service outside of the Church.

It was really embarrassing.

You are mistaken notoriety for being influential!!

Those pastors you called 'Stupid' are more influential than you and has written many books within purview of their chosen career/call!!!

You should apply yourself based on your talent too!!

Let's see how influential you will become !!!

It is easy to criticize tho!!

if for any reason I catch my son or daughter in any church headed by a Yoruba man ,I will disown that child immediately .have you noticed something about these churches .? for instance winners chapel in the east if a particular satellite church brings more money for tithes and offerings, that church will be headed by Yoruba man but if it does not , it will be headed by an easterner.

Response

This is how it works.
Most of the Meg churches in Nigeria started in the South West, which is mainly populated by the Yorubas. Naturally, the Yorubas joined the churches earlier and became Pastors earlier than most people from other tribe. They were transferred to other parts of Nigeria to start branches of the church over there.

So, naturally, those 'old' branches ( many of which were started by these Yorubas), will usually have more members, and more money than the new ones (when non Yorubas have now started becoming Pastors there) and it is not a coincidence that many of the Pastors will be Yorubas, since most of them became Pastors in the ministry before it gained ground in the east and north.

This is the simple explanation. Pls, let's not bring tribalism to divide the church of Christ.

Indabosky is a pastor. His pattern of miracle is funny. He beats his members, kicks them, flogs them, yet he is a pastor. Alright, congratulations. I've read all your hateful posts. They're no longer meaningful. You go out everyday of your lives hating on Yorubas and blackmailing the tribe, it carries no weight anymore. A typical Igbo can't live a day without thinking about yoruba, hating yorubas and accusing yorubas falsely, all because of envy and inferiority complex.
All yours hateful forefathers that gave birth to hateful children, where are they today? Yoruba children are children of promise and glory, you will only think and injure yourself.

While you wail and cry, console yourself with this Yoruba song cover from Oyinbo people. You also also cry about why they did cover for Yoruba song, instead of Igbo song. grin

Did she present the issues appropriately?

Far from it.

Was her complaint with merit?

Absolutely.

We cant claim to be following Christ and yet embrace primordial considerations like mindless tribalism as if our lives depend on it.

Churches led by Yoruba overseers are generally known for reserving keadership posutions almost exclusively for Yorubas. That practice needs a makeover so there is no point defending a blatant malpractice.

We have to encourage and espouse fairness and objectivity if we want to get anywhere as a nation.

Buhari's government is more or less for the northerners and a little to the Yorubas. People like you see nothing wrong with what is obviously an egrigious concept...

You and your ilk are apparently narrow-minded. Or else you should have been circumspect enough to cotton on to the fact that power will one day revert to the part(s) of the country being sidelined.

How will things pan out if tomorrow an Igboman becomes president and in the furtherance of the ethnocentric agenda as being precedented by Buhari flood over 70 percent of government appointment with Igbos?

You see, people should start using their heads...

You are talking people that have their blood polluted with tribalism.
People so bad that they will not allow the indigenes of another local govt in the same state to become their Bishop.
They resisted it so much that Pope gave up.
You are insanely ignorant.

The case you cited had nothing to do with tribalism.

I dont exoect you to understand because you were probably raised in a society where entitlement trumps meritocracy.

I may let you into how the Igbo society functions:You earn your position and reckoning.

As a republican socuety, people are not afraid to ask questions. There is no oba or baale whose word is law.

A highly respected clergyman was capitalizing on his exalted position to reserve reward and promotion in the ecclesiastical vocation for his kith and kin from a section of Igboland.

Matters came to a head when he attempted to indirectly impose his protege on a certain diocese against laid down norms.

The people rose up in opposition and despite the media sensationalism, the people prevailed even after the supreme authority intervened.

It was an Igbo affair. We have sinçe moved on..

You said you were republican and yet you ignorantly crave to be in charge of big churches which your Republican (narrow) minds cannot nurture from the scratch successfully not to talk of managing.

Lessons learnt! Any Christian who failed to learn in this COVID 19 epidemic will never learn again. My Thithes will never go to Pastors again, I'll give them to charity than fill the pockets of material ego maniacs. Charity was what Christ preached and not thithing. And any follower of Christ must begin to reach out to the poor and needy, that's where real blessing and salvation dwells.

I've learnt a great deal this period,
