Yes, I love the car. It's 20 years old now, with over 200,000 km mileage and everything still intact.

* HOW 20-YEAR & 2020 ANNIVERSARY OF MY PEUGEOT 406 V6 STICK-SHIFT WENT DOWN*

Drove the lion into a place and poured his favorite drink into the rear tank. Pulled out my own drink and poured into the stomach. Geared the lion into action towards expressway, where I played with the pedals and gear stick, as my own part, and let the lion do his own part, to do what he knows how to do best: Fun!

Each time I am on fun drive with the lion, I hardly use the gear 5 (the gear 5 would seem like overdrive gear on such drive). The Frenchmen may or may not know how to produce the best cars in the world, but they damn well know how to build fun cars. That, you can't take away from them.

My relationship with this lion is like man and dog. Unconditional love, even though the car annoys me sometimes. In return, he treats me well when I am behind the Wheel, most of the times. Simply put, we both understand each other, just like pals do.

The ES9J4S V6 Engine love to be revved. Thirsty when it does that, but the joy it creates makes that consumption insignificant. Like I said, I hardly go beyond gear 4 on such drive. I mean, I understand why Peugeot used the indestructible DMF on that Engine in D9, instead of solid flywheel, which takes care of vibration from the Engine at those high revs from reaching the stick box.

Apart from moment to moment experiences, memories help to perpetuate happiness, since you re-live those experiences as you remember them. Memories are created by choices we individually make. I can't create yours for you.

March 2013 was when this Peugeot 406 V6 SV Manual started to share my name too. We were meant to co-create these wonderful memories and experiences together. Just like a dog and his friend/owner, one of them will someday say goodbye to the other. Until that day comes, will always remember the 8 years adventures and fun we have had together and many more ahead.

A 20 year old vehicle that has proven to be one of the best reliable, durable & dependable wild fun animal Peugeot ever created. It's as if he hasn't aged at all. In fact, it's like the older he becomes, the quicker he is. You are not just a proof or testimony, but you also have shamed the naysayers that tagged Peugeot 406s as problematic vehicles. Driving a car for 8 years is no joke.
I love the 406 but rarely see it on automatic gear. Dunno if they produce good auto.
Also, u said it annoys you sometimes which is normal with a car of 8 years but in general, what’s the issues you deal with often. Thanks lion king or king muphasa

In my opinion, handling performance, the 307 beats the Corolla (LE and CE). I haven't driven the Corolla sport trim so I can not tell.

As for fuel economy, I used a single tank from Lagos to Abuja. I refilled when my tank was on red. N8,450 filled my tank @ N145 per liter. My experience of Intra-city consumption has however been on the high side especially with using AC.

I want to collaborate this my 307 does 2 weeks on a full tank here in Abuja i average 50km daily. the last time i traveled with my 307 was in February i filled my tank at wuse 2 and headed off to Anambra with four people in the car and a loaded boot , i used ac for more than 70 percent of the journey. when i got to starnel in awka i decided to fill up cuz of plenty activities . i filled up my tank with exactly 6,550 . so yes av not used a corolla but my 307 1.6 l engine is Very fuel efficient and barely gives issues.

Apart from changing the expensive transmission oil a few times nothing much.....it's awesome, especially d trip tonic shift grin. Will just convert to manual if it's develops a major fault. I intend to use the car for a very very long time. My uncle still has his Peugeot 504 from waay b4 I was born... trying to see if I can do same with mine

I like your analysis and contribution.... One key feature you have mentioned about 406 is the good suspension quality.. I don't know why most car gurus hate Peugeot though...
