After driving my automatic ride and enjoying the comfort it offers, I swear nothing on earth will make me drive manual car again in my life!

It validates the saying that there are "different strokes for different folks..."

OP has described what features to look out for in an ideal economic situation.
Now in a real economic situation like many of us have found ourselves, the real features to look out for are:

1. The suspension system of the car

2. Four plugs engine

3. Fuel economy

4. Second hand value

5. Mileage

6. Duggedness on our Nigerian roads.

Anything else comes secondary. In fact I still prefer manual cars because it gves me that feeling of being actively engaged and not the idle state an automatic puts you in.

Guy, guy, guy...

How many times did i call you?

Stop stressing yourself...save the money for pain reliever.

Tear and wear is not a condition in machineries only, humans too experience it.

Automatic cars are not expensive.

May we not look older than our age.

People are still buying cars in this Coro situation?
this is the best time to buy a car to help in social distancing. Commercial vehicle drivers within Lagos don't give a hoot about social distancing or covid-19 pandemic o, this very moment they still do 2 passengers in front seat, 4 at the back in a Toyota corolla. What easier way to get the virus than this?

I dey tell you!!!

When you hear all these manual buffs talk, you start to think it was a huge mistake that automatic transmission was even invented.

It will take Jesus himself to convince me to give up the comfort offered by my automatic transmission...

I like my cars having a good balance on the road, cover a chunk of the road, like a van, truck, with good relaxing mode in the driver seat to spread arms, plus back seat dvd players for kids, plus cameras for reversing, with lane diversion sensibility, with ability to cover high distance on start up, keyless entry and ignition. I like my Dashboard placed at the middle like some of these latest toyota products. There's nothing I won't look out for

Tips to buying new car that will last long:

1. Buy a car that is cheaper to maintain and repaired when it breaks down. Go for Toyota or Honda products (don't go for Honda Odyssey).

2. Buy a car with less electronics. Key fob, power lift this n that is good but when the car starts having electrical problem..it will violate rule no 1.

3. Don't buy a hybrid car. Yes hybrid gives u a lot of fuel economy but when they break down, parts are scarces and very expensive. Remember say na 9have u dey..even in developed countries.. hybrid cars mechanics are hard to find.

4. Buy a car with appreciable ground clearance if u are going to be riding in areas with bad roads.
. You said we should not buy Honda Odyssey, any reason for that? Because I want to buy it for my elder sister.

OP is talking about brand new cars, but you are apparently talking about fairly used/tokunbo.

The engine for Honda Odyssey are not well built compared to other Honda engines. The Odyssey engine often break down a lot.

That is why their resale value is very low (1.e used ones come with very low price). Don't buy an Odyssey if you are looking for a car that will last for a longtime with little or no serious repairs.

I would advice you to get a Toyota sienna that is in good shape...off course it is more expensive but it will last for a very long time with little or no serious repair. And it resale value is pretty good in case you decide to resell it.
