Finally Lockdown will be over

Was listening to a phone in progam on Nigeria Info FM 99.3 FM and it was hilarious listening to the people on the proposed broadcast. People need to understand the difference between a live presidential chat/briefing and a broadcast.

A broadcast is pre-recorded so that the contents are well articulated and encompassing while a presidential chat/briefing includes fielding questions from those present. Many may have watched Trump doing this and feel Buhari should do the same but its not an easy thing to organize especially with the present lockdown.

Besides that, of what use would having a live broadcast be when there would be no fielding of questions? All that is needed is for the president to read out the speech and tell us what he has in mind. He can as well decide to release a statement without having to go before a camera but will people believe he's alive?

We sometime need to cut the slack and allow it be .....most presidents do pre-recorded broadcasts for example the Queen's Christmas, Easter and other broadcasts are pre-recorded.

Some of these people writing demeaning things about President Buhari do not know how difficult it is to make a call in uncertain times like this.

1.Well, Sweden has 18,926 cases with 1005 recovered, and 2, 274 deaths , compared to our own of 1273, with 239 recoveries and 40 deaths.

2.Based on the above, one could argue that the lockdowns are working in Nigeria compared to the Swedes.

3Sweden has 10 times the death rate of its neighbors, all of whom are on lockdown.

4.Sweden is not free yet. Yesterday, they recorded 264 new cases. Coming down from 754 on the 24th of this month, but not free like New Zealand yet.

They might understand your point if you show them deaths per thousands for Scandinavian countries. Sweden is not as bad as UK, but its worse than its neighbours.

And Sweden has the highest single home residents and a young population.
