Yeah, it takes a toll on their mental health seeing their patients die like that. The number of people dying is probably too much to take for some of them.

I guess this is similar to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) many US Marines suffer when they are eventually demobilised back to their country.
PTSD has some of those Marines committing suicide, murder and other violent acts.
I will advise that the Medical officers at the front line of the battle against this Pandemic should be given regularly counselling by Psychologist, Pastors, etc.
They should also be given time off from duty, often enough, to heal their psychological wounds.

Not every doctor can see 50 patients die in their life time but seeing over 40000 people dying in less than 5 months is pathetic.
