A young man is currently in a critical condition after falling off an e-scooter in north London.

The man, in his 20s, whose identity has not yet been confirmed by police, was rushed to hospital by air ambulance on Thursday night.

Police were called to the incident in Primrose Hill at around 11.15pm after the man was left seriously injured following the accident.

He had not been involved in a collision with any other vehicles, said police.

It is the third accident in the last two weeks involving the battery-powered vehicles in London, which are forbidden to ride on UK roads or pavements.

Those caught riding e-scooters on the road face a £300 fine and six points on their driving license.

A Met Police spokesman said: ‘The man, aged in his 20s, was not in collision with any other vehicle or person.

‘He has been taken by London’s Air Ambulance to a London hospital, where his condition is critical. ‘The man’s identity is not known. Urgent police enquiries are underway to establish his identity and inform his family.
