FG Orders Banks To Open From Monday by xristos(m): 8:07pm On Apr 29, 2020
Federal Government, Wednesday said banks in Lagos, Ogun and Abuja will begin operations from Monday 4th of May, 2020.

Disclosing this, the National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Dr Sani Aliyu, gave conditions and preventive measures to stem the spread of covid-19.

He said banks would be allowed to open between 8am and 2pm in the three places.

His words, “In terms of the banks, this continues to be a recurring issue for all of us. We have been in touch with the CBN governor.

“Moving on from Monday, banks will open and they will operate normal services from 8am to 2pm. That is six hours but there will be the usual restrictions.

For instance, self-distancing and the use of temperature monitors, hand hygiene, and making sure the capacities of banking halls are restricted so that people do not come together.”

I'm so scared for Nigeria.

They are easing lock down simply because of the ineptitude thereby willing to sacrifice the citizens.

Call me a prophet of doom if you like but all I see is a failed government willing to watch many die cos lives don't matter to them.

I pray for a miracle so this infection won't escalate.

Cbn should just revamp e-banking. Crowd in the bank and at the ATM should disappear. Take a cue from Kenya.

8am to 2pm is too small... Less people will be allowed into the bank so why reduce the working hours

What kind of conflicting news is this.
Lagos said 9am-3pm
FG is saying 8am- 2pm
Why can’t the FG allow states run their time based on what the Governors think is applicable to their respective states?
How many people can leave home 6am in Lagos and get go work by 8am?

This economy that people are in a rush to open, when cases goes way beyond what can be handled, the same economy will be forced to be closed for a way longer time.

This same Govt earlier this year told you guys before we had any case that they had capacity and were ready to tackle the virus, but see what is happening. This same govt due to pressure is now relaxing the lockdown when the cases are just starting to skyrocket and Nigerians still believe in the Govt's decision.

Coronavirus cases are about to explode. And transfer of cash from one person to another will be the major source of transmission. I just pray to God America produces a cure very very soon.
