We all know that soap is used to clean the skin, but some people also say that soaps can improve the skin in different ways. I am doing this because I intend to research on soaps people's perception of them and their effects on skincare?


So I am curious?

Which soap do you use and why?

Is it a bar soap, liquid soap, or black soap.

Does it do anything for your skin? Can you use these type of soap on your face?

What do you usually think of when buying your soap, price, fragrance, organic, the picture?

How much do you spend on soap for a month?

yes. it does a lot. firstly, it makes me understand women better than they understatnd themselves. secondly it reduces the way i spend.

I use carrot glow exfoliating bodywash, it doesn't make me light or anything.. it exfoliates my skin and smells nice too.
It's also cost effective, I use one bottle for up to a month or more.

I had a funny experience with bodywash back in 300level

There was this bodywash I was eyeing on the top shelf of the supermarket in.my school for a long while.

It was a lux brand, it was their wine and roses bodywash 750mls. Wine in color. The marketing was on point. I was already imagining a boyfriend(which I didn't have at the time) taking me out on Valentine's day for dinner with roses and wine as a gift. I was expecting to smell like wine and roses. I was thinking of how it will make my skin soft and boys will start to ask.me out. My brain had turned into a harlequin romance novel.

Omo. That is how I used my pocket money to buy the soap for 1k. I was thinking that it will last me for 3 months, it will make me smell good like Irish spring. The wash only lasted a little over 2 weeks. I could not cry . The smell was okay but didn't last long on my body. Irish spring soap was 150naira that time and it would have lasted longer.

It was just basic. I haven't used body wash since then.

This one is #2,000, it foams really well so you have nothing to worry about.

I use IfysTrue organic blacksoap and so does my kids.

The soap is amazing and really nice. It's purely organic, glows up the skin and gets rid of all forms of skin diseases.

This is my issue with 'organic' black soap, it has no lists of ingredients,

Even the 'whitening' serums you add to them, no one knows their ingredients. Is the soap allowed to cure?

Was it made hygienically? These are the questions I ask before I use a product on my skin especially a gbogbonise black soap.

Lemon juice 2tbsp/1wrap of Ghana soap
Honey 2tbsp/1wrap of Ghana soap
Orange peel powder 2tbsp also

Please note that this ingredient list is for basic black soap not whitening, though turmeric is a lightening ingredient, for effective lightening, kojic and alpha arbutin with a bit of AHAs will be added in appropriate % and pH.

1tbsp equals 15g
1 wrap of Ghana soap is appr. 300g

I use the local , unrefined Ghana black soap and I rub coconut oil. It makes my skin smooth and devoid of rashes, it also removes dirt from the skin and it’s cheap.

I react badly to black soap, dudu-osun etc...

My face is only okay with the timeless Joy or Lux soap.. So far, so good.. Anytime I try another soap no matter how expensive or high ratings, I experience breakouts/ blackheads...
