this report has been with Jonathan since 2012 before he left office in 2015.....if he meant well for us he would have used it immediately just as he approved things that has to do with his crew during his time....but let not forget a government that never abandon it. if many government used the policies or report of past administrations, many states would have grown economically...buhari never abandoned many projects or economic policies of past administration but what we fail to understand is that the past adminsitration had enough time to implement and finish what ever they started. 2014 Confab report will soon follow.

Is not just about having good policies and ideas the major thing is implementation, if you have sound policies and you can't implement it is as good as nothing

Most noble policies suggested by Jonathan should be implemented. They should consider the Confab report, restructuring and other great deal of policies initiated but never implemented.

Governance is a continuos process. All those posters praising Pres Jonathan, report was submitted in 2012, if it was the proper time, the recommendations contained therein would have been implemented.

The truth is, many statutory agencies overlap in their duties (e.g FRSC & VIO )hence, mergers or outright scraping will save taxpayers money.

There is also the believe that often times, Agencies are created to 'settle bois'. With oil price hitting the lowest and no oil money to play around with, it is time to cut down on all excesses.

But then, how will a merger of these agencies reduce cost without laying off any of its officials, or shutting down offices

Definitely, redundant staff members will be laid off. Sad thing is, a lot of junior cadre civil servants are! Seen where all a person does is register incoming and outgoing files.
