A group of Nigerian Catholic priests have produced a drug which is supposed to be a cure for the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.

According to IgbereTV reports, the developed drug is called Pax CVD Plus. It's invention was made public in a statement released and signed by Father Anselm Adodo OSB on Wednesday, April 29, on behalf of Pax Herbal Clinic and Research Laboratories.

Father Anselm said that plant-based drugs are seemingly the best approach for coronavirus because these drugs are easily produced, stored and distributed and can be handled by medical and non-medical personnel as they pose a low contamination risk.

The constituents of the drug are antiviral and immunomodulatory agents which help to stimulate antibodies. He said the constituents of the drug are antiviral and immunomodulatory agents which help to stimulate antibodies.

The cleric said: “The Pax CVD PLUS contains herbs and active phytoconstituents with documented scientific evidence based on clinical reports of their efficacy and safety.”

Father Anselm revealed that the research is a joint effort of experts from University of Lagos and University of Benin, a tertiary health institution—Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Edo state and experts sent by Prof Catherine Adeyeye and Prof Tunde Salako. Professor Adeyeye is the director-general of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, while Professor Salako is the head of the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Development.

Do they conduct trials in Nigeria before jumping out to announce how they've discovered 'cure' for coronavirus?
Check out all the ones that had announced theirs before now, including Prof Maurice Iwu, if you still hear anything about them.
There's no where in the world a cure for an illness is announced far before conducting trials for the said drug. That would be pure madness
