Governor Godwin Obaseki said this during a live broadcast on Thursday, April 30.

The governor said that due to the rising cases of COVID-19 in the state, the government had decided to extend the curfew it imposed in the state to two weeks.

“Following a review of the recent developments in the fight against the spread of COVID__19 , I have extended the dusk-to-dawn curfew in Edo State for the next 14 days, but with some alterations to the timing.

“The curfew would now be from 8pm to 6am daily,” he wrote.

Same question I’m asking here in niger state . If coronavirus worked only on “Monday, Wednesday and Saturday “ cos we are only allow to go out on Friday, Sunday and Tuesday. Sounds ridiculous

You imposed a dusk to dawn curfew in your state to flatten the curve. After one week you observed that the curve no flat at all instead the cases are skyrocketing. The conclusion you can deduce from your evidence is that since the cases are going up then the curfew needs to be extended for another 2 weeks. The use of the lockdown in the Western Countries was to ease the load on the existing hospitals and to build more hospitals. China built a hospital in 8 days. The UK built 3 hospitals with a 4000 bed capacity in 2-4 weeks. The Nigerian Government called for a 4 week lockdown with no hospitals built, no mass-testing and no isolation centers. The used the lockdown to beg for loans and to collect donations from people, the have shared the monies and now have lifted the lockdown because they cannot afford to feed and protect 200 million citizens. God help Nigeria.
