After forming spending so as to be among the big contributors, they end up sacking their staffs.

Insecure? Far from it.

Personally, I operate something of my own. But it's no excuse to say that those that lost or will lose their jobs should have been entrepreneurs.

What you don't understand is that these 'jobs' retrenching their staff are also 'businesses' that are on the brink of failure or bankruptcy.

So your whole argument is flawed anyway. Unless you expect everybody to own a kiosk and shop of their own in the name of entrepreneurship.

Stop peddling the dream that ones you become an entrepreneur, life becomes rosy and you start seeing more money than a cashier.

There are pros and cons to everything.
Truly worded.

Yes, not for everyone. After all a neighborhood shop owner can lay claims to entrepreneurship. Lol.

But whatever the case is, the threat of sudden job eclipse will never occur if you work for yourself. The threat will be visible from a mile away and you can decide to sink or sail on your own terms.

I hate Yoruba but I don't support this one.

Access bank donated N1b to federal government, the resultant effect now is massive sacking of their staff. Donation is not by force, the bank management acted foolishly by over donating. What has the federal government have to offer to the sacked staff now?

You're wasting your time on this argument. You know you've lost but just refusing to give up.
DSTV must have affected you and you're now lost and thinking you live in a different world.

Please tell us one state, federal or relevant private firm that operates on 9 to 5.
This is your 5th post or so, you're yet to provide any stats to back up your spurious claim that most companies run 8-4 and very few companies run 9-5...

You've been going on and on rambling about DSTV and crap.

we are very sure access is never going to hire back people. they have been looking excuse to get rid of workers inherited from diamond Bank.

nothing goes back to normal in Nigeria. we just adapt to whatever situation we found ourselves. most people affected during the recent recession are still waiting to be called back.

people will go back to their normal lifestyle once there is a vaccine. it only takes months, everyone forget about covid19 and they start flying round the world again.

we are talking about working countries and you bring up useless Nigeria. will any bankrupted or cash strapped company get any benefit/financial assistance from your Nigerian government?

Like I said before, any business will hire people if there's a need for it. If business is booming and Access needs more hands on deck, then they will hire more staff. If they were overloaded with staff then there's no need to hire new staff. It's called business decision.

Some of you guys just make asinine statements,
What have you contributed to make Nigeria a working nation besides posting unrealistic expectations on NL? I'm pretty sure, NOTHING.
A nation is as good as it's inhabitants and with inhabitants like you, I can see why Nigeria has a long way to go.
You think American is an overnight success? Think again, it has taken generations, hard work and determination to build the richest country in the history of Nations.
People work long hours, pay a lot back in taxes and work to change whatever they don't like about the system.

It's not only In Nigeria... Companies around the world are doing mass retrenchment, even mine, we are patiently waiting for the list to come to know who is going home or not, they called it 5 months long vacation, but the difference is that they will give u some packages and return ticket while ur employment Visa will not be cancel, the second option u leave the company accommodation and fend on ur own, when u get another job u can come for cancellation, this is option for people that don't want to go home... We are in global crisis... That's why I always said, save for dry season

Pls get a real job, you don't sound nor reason like anyone who owns any investment worth anything or pay taxes.

And she's one of many more to come. Sad but true reality.

Nigeria is not a country you rely on a job that is not your own. They will lift you high today and dash you to the ground tomorrow.

I've always been a campaigner for entrepreneurship, even though it takes smartness and agility to survive in that terrain, no one can bully you or use you like a mop.

Pls enlighten me on entrepreneurship because i always feel if everybody starts a business today who will buy from who? You know what i mean?
