The operation of the refineries would save the government billions of dollars and improve the country petrochemical and industrial base.

The development party (PDP) was doing what the integrity party(APC) is doing today stealing and wasting resources. Buhari's government has increased Nigeria external debt profile from $10 billion to a whopping $35 billion and was about to take another $22 billion from the Chinese with interest rate of 7% per annum.

Jonathan made 381 billion dollar from oil, he was in the best position to build refineries. Buhari hasn't make half of that amount and he's doing turn around maintenance on the existing refineries. Let's hope the turn around is successful.

Even if he takes 100 billion dollar loan, he still wouldn't be anywhere near Jonathan in term if revenue generation.

It seems you just want to argue. Even with all the 20 billion dollar debt, Buhari is still more than 200 billion dollar behind Jonathan, he has the worst revenue since 1999, the fact cannot be wished away.

Fuel should be selling for less than N100 now but it is still at N125. If it is to increase price, they won't hesitate. Fucking government.

Thieves!, if subsidy has indeed been removed, then the pump price of Fuel should be less than N80 per liter currently, they simply are creating a landing for Dangote refinery to kick-start. Anyway, Let Dangote create more jobs whenever he starts

Frankly, given the ongoing devaluation (by whatever name or method) of the Naira...
The likelihood would be for a price INCREASE in the immediate aftermath of any price or sectoral deregulation.

The BEST hope of deregulation is that OVER TIME increased investment, efficiency and competition in the downstream petroleum industry shall put downward pressure on pricing and hopefully result in significant price moderation, and furthermore the trillions being expended (wasted, IMHO) yearly on subsidy payments or under-recovery would be channeled into physical and social investment (education, healthcare, etc).

A barrel or 159 litres of oil sells for $15. That's about N5k. 5000/159 = N31. Selling fuel for N50 is not a bad idea but evil government won't let it happen.

Difference is that you NOT buying crude oil at the gasoline pump...
It's akin to selling cocoa and buying chocolate, or selling cotton and buying clothes - plus shipping costs.

I made the simple division and the answer was N31, then I recommended N50 pump price. What do you think the extra N19 I added to the price is for?
