Which Skill Would You Want My Senior Bro To Acquire by Smithwesson7(op): 7:40pm On May 03, 2020
He has been a wonderful person. A very intelligent and smart being. The defender and provider of our family.
He is a selfless and generous person but things are beginning to go south for him
He works in the private sector but there is rumbling in his organization (maybe due to corvid 19) and if he doesn't act fast, he will be left in the cold very soon( dropped)
It hurts me to see my senior bro in this situation as he has been a pillar to everyone. Things are in a terrible shape for him
He is 41 and have a small family.
What skills can you suggest for him to acquire so he can be self-reliant.

He is not very bucks-up now as he just finished burying our Dad....
Pls kindly suggest something he can learn.
Sorry for the long epistle
Tnx

False .
He can learn anything he chooses to learn.
Knowledge and skill acquisition isn't limited by age anymore in the digital age.

Ask him what he loves, he should learn what he loves or has some interest or drive to learn .

He can be a programmer, digital marketer, content creator, video editor.
He can be anything he chooses to be, no king, no lord, no man can say him nay. cool
He is limited only by his mind.

Depending on what his job was in the private sector, he can start a consulting gig with the skills and experience he has gotten on the job over the years.

About skills, it depends on him.... Is he a tech-savvy person? If yes, he can go into learning stuffs along the multimedia field: photography, videography/cinematopgraphy, graphics design, it's kinder easy to get jobs/freelance along these line as they don't take much time when there's real passion.

If he's more of a hands-on person, he can go into professional painting (painting of houses/making of paints), majoring on a particular part of auto mechanics (electrical, gearbox, engine, ac), he can also learn installation of CCTV and or Solar Powered Systems.

Importantly, as he's been a pillar for your family all along, you all should not just help with words of encouragement. You all should put hands together, no matter how little, pool up some funds as your abilities can and surprise him with it... Trust me, it will mean the heavens to him.

I wish him the best

Learning a skill without him having a choice of what to learn and at his present age will be a challenge

Let him learn how to sell food stuff and with time he will expand

At 41 years, he should or must have acquired a skill when he was very much younger.

Nevertheless, he should carryout a SWOT analysis of himself and know what he is passionate about but personally, I will recommend he learn how to install Plaster of Paris (POP) ceiling, window artwork, wall screeding, floor and wall tiles.
