Good afternoon to all,

Starting a palm oil business doesn't have to be expensive, you can start with few kegs of palm oil of about 30k - 45k worth, depending on when you buy the oil (i.e. during season or out of season), a keg during its season i.e. 25litre keg can go for as low as N3,500 - N5,000 and a keg during its off season before it goes on the high can be sold for about N7,000 - N8,500 depending on location too.
When ready to start selling, you can sell each keg for more than double or triple the price during its high/peak, when its scarce, specially when you keep in good storage, even if you sell almost immediately, you make your tangible gain if not greedy and move on to stocking more for sale.

Palm oil is a produce that is always in demand, there is low risk and its a viable business if you get to understand its nitty gritty - i.e. the types of oil (grades: either grade 1 which is the pure grade or the diluted/adulterated), how to detect if good or bad, best sources and market.
Mostly crude palm oil used in production of finished goods, is always in demand by companies who produce, e.g. soap making industries and processed food industries.
Understanding its market is important, because prices fluctuate just like any other commodity, so also preference for particular oil produced in different states depending on the customer's knowledge about the source of oil.
Note also that palm oil is been imported into the country from other oil producing countries which affect the local demand for palm oil, hoping that is put in check by the government to promote our local market, hence the closure of the boarder by the government, it will contribute to more production and supply by our local farmers and millers which will be able to meet with the demand of the intending end users (industries). This will mean well for those of us in the trade and those intending to join in.

In the production and supply chain of palm oil, one could venture into any and make tangible income from it.

Palm kernel seeds / seedling's sales > palm kernel commercial farming > palm kernel nut sales > palm oil / palm kernel oil processing and production > palm kernel shells/sludge/fibre sales > palm oil /palm kernel oil sales (either retail or wholesale/bulk) > refined palm oil / crude palm oil sales and marketing / delivery.

Other supply chain not mentioned:
Sales of drums/ kegs, Supplying information about the business, Sales of processing machines, Sales of other production tools, Technical know how about processing and management of palm oil production industries, Transporting of produce.

Everyone do not need to do the same thing if they don't want to, you can pick a supply chain and focus on making the best out of it. Every business has several chain of production and supply, one just need to make the most out of that which one decides to go into and can manage properly, depending on one's interest and expertise.

Personally I love agriculture and its produce sales, so for me going into its commercial farming and supplying its produce is my area of interest and expertise having developed my self in that area, reason why I continuously gather all information i need to make the best out of it and be the best in the field, because rending the best quality service exceeding expectations is my goal.

Aviland Agro Company, is into mainly the supply of pure unadulterated refined palm oil and crude palm oil in large quantities which we deliver to desired exact location of our buyer) and single keg quantity (which we deliver to our consumer's state through public transport/courier services at affordable cost), we source from major producing states (Akure, Akwa-Ibom, Cross-river and Edo/Delta) with best palm oil grade and best processing practices of local oil mills, as acquiring good quality palm oil is important to us, to give the best to our intending buyers.
