Every state should power their own region. Akwa ibom, river, Delta,Lagos should be able to have 24 hours light if not for the northern region draining it.

Restructure this country

The truth remains that we dont have the infrastructure to transmit and distribute the sum of all the installed capacities of this plant. Eg Alaoji has 12 GTS but can only evacuate power generated by 3 of the GTs.

South East has only two.
What a useless region.

Only Kainji and Ughelli power stations powered the whole country in the 1960's to 1970's. Nigeria had a lesser population then also.

1000+MW is the installed capacity. When these power plants were planned,evacuation infrastructure was under considered.

SE is allocated about 300-400 MW but Abia produces over 1200MW while Anambra can generate 5000 MW.

Otondo three power plants in southeast

You forgot there is no gas deposit in Southwest to power those plants, they depend on east, the plants are all gas turbines

thats how they told mabilla project is almost complete and when investigative journalist ( babajide otitoju of TVC) went with camera last year there is nothing there except the beauty of the river.... ordinary dam to collect water together they haven't built but you e-politicians will shouting it's almost complete when a single block have not been laid

I don't know how much Osun generates but Osun also has five sub-stations.

At least, my stay last year, I enjoyed an average of 16 - 20hrs available light in Osun State

Oshogbo is the transmission house to other distribution network. Should they shut down then many states will be in total darkness.

This is a goddamm lie, zungeru and kashimbilla dams were all start and went very far since the time of goodluck. I remember pitying him that he will not take the glory for a project he started and went so far nearing completion. we were all caught up in the buhari Hysteria back then thinking that things will finally be better. is it not even a shame that a project inherited since the time of gej is not still completed today? As for the most important power project in Nigeria (the mambilla dam) absolutely nothing has been done on it. NOTHING. no access road to the mountainous project site, dozens of villages that supposed to be compensated and relocated are still there, no single construction equipment relating to the dam has climbed that mountain. when I say nothing is happening there, i mean NOTHING. so stop misleading the people

States that can't should buy from States that can do so or they should be in darkness.

The issue is not necessary the generation but the distribution channels. Most distribution lines are weak

they said so during obasanjo era, so uptil now they have not fix new ones or additional, after 16 years, Nigerians forget anything about steady power supply in Nigeria, it is impossible.
