Abraham's case was divine..

I personally love Abraham because he refused to marry another wife even when he was at liberty to but chose to stay true to God's promises..

Sarah is the mother of the Jewish race through Isaac, present nation of israel.

Hagar is the mother of the Arab race.. she brought forth the Muslims through Ismael.

Christians And Muslims are children of Abraham. They all came from one man.

Paul said in Galatians that the children of the bond woman(Hagar)persecuted those of the freewoman.(Sarah).. it was a prophecy as Muslims persecuted Christians even today.

Children of Abraham fighting each other.

God allowed Abraham to make his mistake in other to fulfill divine mandate.
Everything was well planned by God.

But the promise came through Isaac from Sarah.. m talking about Jesus. Jesus is the son of Abraham.
Be careful with some lines there as it could be used against you. E.g Abraham lay with Hagar even though God had told him he will be father of many nations. Another is God permitting Abraham to make mistakes, hmm.

what I meant was God knew those things would happen but allowed still.
God knew would knew Abraham would sleep with Hagar but still allowed.

He knew all even before the journey started.

In the bible a concubine was a woman acquired by a man as a secondary wife. Her purpose was to provide a male Heir in the case of a barren wife,to provide more children in general to enhance the family's workforce, wealth and to satisfy man's sexual desires.A concubine was endowed with rights and protections by the Hebrew law but was not equal in status to a wife, infact God approved rights for concubines in the law of Moses but still God does not approve of marriage to involve concubines.A woman living as a concubine was more common in Israel during the time of Abraham,Isaac and Jacob than in later periods, but it still happened among the wealthy ones like King David and Solomon.Polygamy and concubinage were also allowed in ancient Israel.God even provided the rights of concubines in the bible like (Genesis 25:6) where concubine's were legitimate but they have been socially considered secondary to the children born from a wife, they were not totally entitled to an inheritance but were sometimes included in their fathers will.Examples of God's approved concubines in the bible are:Hagar who was Abraham's concubine (Sarah's handmaid),though Muslim's do not refer to her as a concubine but Abraham's other Wife(Hajara),her story is in Genesis 16:1-16 and Genesis 21:9-21,we all know how Sarah was hurt at the end of it all.We have Ketura who married Abraham after Sarah's death and was recorded as a wife in Genesis 25:1 but was recorded as a concubine in 1 chronicles 1:32 but also Genesis 25:6 suggests that Ketura was Abraham's concubine.Another is The concubine of Gibeah and is unnamed in the bible but her heartbreaking story is recorded in Judges 19-21.We have Rizpah the concubine of king Saul. The 10 concubines are king David unnamed concubines, they are mentioned in 2 Samuel 15:16 and others. We have the 300 concubines attached to king Solomon, more concubines are mentioned in the old testament. Why didn't God step in to say this practice is harmful and should not be done by God's people. In Deuteronomy 24:5 God made instructions for husbands to prioritize wife's happiness and in Malachi 2:13-16 God expressed anger at husband's unfaithfulness to his wife .The Bible isn't specific about why God allowed his people to continue in sinful systems like this.God loves both men and women and will not hurt us,but why did He allow such to happen knowing fully well that these women(wives)were actually hurt? Men of those days were allowed to have concubines, Abraham would have chosen to take Hagar as wife but he didn't.

Abraham is highly reckoned to be father of faith.. but his faith was not strong at the beginning. He grew in faith. He and Sarah misunderstood God's promise.. He literally thought Ismael was the promise son, this was proven in Genesis 17 when he laughed at God, after God told him Sarah would bear a son for him. God corrected him though. Isaac came to life through faith and by promise.
Ishmael was born of the flesh, not by promise.

But the point I was tryna draw was that God knew all these from the beginning. The same God told Abraham that his seed would be slave in a foreign land. And he would save them after 400 years.

NOTHING CATCHES GOD BY SURPRISE,
that's my point.

First of all, I appreciate you calling for my input on this even though I don't know what you're trying to achieve with this either to learn from it or just to use it to batch, well whatever your reason(s) may be, I'll give my input as a fallible human who only allow scripture to interpret itself.

Secondly, I have to cut some parts of the post to limit the typing space.

Thirdly, the part I left from your post will be addressed normally and to the glory of God.

Why didn't God step in to say this practice is harmful and should not be done by God's people.
God was there when Satan deceived Eve yet He didn't step in, for a reason best known to Him. This shows from beginning that not every action of man God steps in to act.

In Deuteronomy 24:5 God made instructions for husbands to prioritize wife's happiness and in Malachi 2:13-16 God expressed anger at husband's unfaithfulness to his wife.
That was absolutely true!

The Bible isn't specific about why God allowed his people to continue in sinful systems like this.
God has allowed people to live in their sin and still work with them.

The questions we then ask are:

1. Do these people know that God actually hate their action?
2. Do they pay for the consequences of their actions?

The answers to these questions came out to be Yes!

God loves both men and women and will not hurt us,but why did He allow such to happen knowing fully well that these women(wives)were actually hurt?
God who allows Satan to deceive man knows what He's doing but Holy Spirit through Apostle Paul (you can read 1 Corinthian 10:1-11) enjoining us not to take after them as God was not actually pleased with them.

In summary:
Just as God from beginning gave man rules to follow and obey but why God was watching as man disobeyed those rules and man continues to pay for the consequences of breaking those rules till date, whoever did what God was not pleased with must face the consequences.

Shalom!

Of course sleeping with someone unmarried is sinful.

You have to look at it from biblical sense, if you wanna use logic then I might not follow at all

Yes, as at those days, you can have someone unmarried and add them to your list of wives... what God was against was having someone already taken.

The bible is a sexist book written by primitive men who believed women belonged to men as part of their property.
According to this bible men have every right to treat women as foot mats.
It is all there in the bible that women are inferior to men.
The bible regards women as inferior beings as such no woman who has read and understood the bible would agree to practice what the bible preaches.
So in essence you don't believe in the bible?

Adam and Eve chose to challenged God's right to determine good and bad {Genesis 3:6} God and that opens the way for their descendants to test and see what becomes of there freewill without divine guidance! Deuteronomy 32:5

The first man to marry two wives was Lamech {Genesis 4:19} of course that was in contrast to God's arraignment of one man one wife, but since the case of who should determine what is right and wrong has not been firmly sued God allowed him!

Note faithful men afterwards like Noah, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. They all had affection for Just one woman!

Jacob was tricked into marrying the woman that's not her choice, he decided to serve his in-law for another seven years to get the woman he truly love making him a husband of two and it led to big trouble in his family!

Ever since then polygamy has been characterized with so much agony. The faithful man Job will not look at any other woman apart from his own wife {Job 31:1}

So when Jesus (God's only begotten son) arrived the Jews asked him questions regarding marriage and multiple partners, Jesus' response shocked all of them!
He made it clear to them that if they want to inherit God's kingdom they must stick to God's arraignment as it was laid down in the beginning {Matthew 19:4-6}, therefore each man must view his wife as his own Eve and each woman must view her man as her own Adam. Of course the first human pair has no other option than to stick together as one! Genesis 2:22-24 compare to Proverbs 18:22

No wonder Jesus said none of all those faithful men who lived before John the baptist is yet qualified for God's Kingdom! Matthew 11:11

Jesus said so because everyone must learn how to do God's will uninterrupted from God's only begotten son! John 3:16

So they will all be resurrected to learn all what Jesus taught us during Jesus' 1,00 years reign {Revelations 20:2-3, 11-13} and they must believe his teachings otherwise they're as good as dead! Revelations 20:5, 15

God bless you! smiley
